The idea that Kerry lost in 2004 cause he was unappealing to WWC is a myth. Look at Kerry's numbers in NE Ohio, they are extremely high and in many counties got the highest raw % since LBJ in 1964. He just got romped in the rest of the state and I dont think any other dem candidate really could have really done that much better.

2004 Ohio is kinda like 2016 FL where the final numbers are close but its hard to see a dem path to victory there given they pretty much maxed out in the region they rely on to run up the vote totals(NE OH for Kerry and SE FL for Hillary).
