Kamala Harris would probably get a 2012 style map with Florida, Ohio, Iowa, Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona being the only states that turned out differently.

The strongest reasonable non-Biden Dem ticket vs the weakest reasonable GOP ticket? Yeah, going with the Dems on this one.

Why would Pence choose a losing gubernatorial candidate as his running mate?

Pence/Youngkin hopefully. Harris Ossof is just about the worst ticket I can imagine.

To be fair, maybe this scenario assumes Youngkin won.

Correct.

It's certainly possible at this point, if not probable, Youngkin pulls this out.

Pence/Who?

After he loses on Tuesday, he’ll be more irrelevant than the unbeatable titan in the Titanium R-strongholds of Colorado and Virginia, Bob Dole. I know bc the time machine told me so.

My oh my, some folks are really overdosing on kool-aid, the figures indicate that McAuliffe is likely to lose, that Youngkin is blessed because he's not a member of the in-party! The only two occasions when the in-party candidate won the Governorship was in 1965 and 2013, & Biden's record is not so wonderful as he has coat tails; LBJ in 1965 was still a potent force a year following his landslide, and Obama was not a potent force either! But McAuliffe is facing local issues that benefit Youngkin and Republican issue voters are more motivated to come out and vote! Also the low information Trump base voters will come out! He basically has his cake & will eat it!

Youngkin probably has a better shot at the nomination than Pence does.

Kamala Harris/Jon Ossoff: 51.9% P.V./308 E.V.
Mike Pence/Glenn Youngkin: 46.9%/230 E.V.

Incidentally, I think the typical outcome would be a comfortable Republican win.

I'll note this is based on the 2020 electoral map, when the post-census map will be a little different.

Harris is a weak candidate. Pence is bland, but I think he'd be favored in a general election matchup.
