Many of you all on both ends of the spectrum criticize the individualistic and selfish mentalities others have, but have repeatedly made clear that you not only exhibit those same traits, but do so proudly when pressed.

The nastiness in the responses proves the op's points.
Sadly, so predictable.

I've left for long periods more than once.  But I didn't make a thread about it and certainly didn't go on a bizarre rant about why.  Like most, the breaks from the Atlas don't last long.  See you soon.
