Anti-establishment populist type who grew up poor and really wanted to live to see a woman become president.  They are almost surely not Catholic and probably live in Virginia.

Note Virgil Goode began his career as an Equal Rights Amendment activist in the 70's, and if this voter remembers that, it makes the 2012 vote more plausible.

describe an FDR/Dewey/Eisenhower/Eisenhower/Nixon/Johnson/Nixon/Nixon/Ford/Carter/Mondale/Dukakis/Clinton/Perot/Nader/Nader/McCain/Goode/Clinton/Trump voter

A New York moderate conservative who absolutely loved FDR nonetheless and backed him out of loyalty in 1948 (the first election he could vote in). Then voted straight Republican until Goldwater alienated him into backing Johnson, and then remained Republican until 1980 - he loved the Camp David Accords for personal reasons, and also he disliked how right-wing Reagan was. Voted for Mondale because he gradually came to the conclusion that the GOP was not for him (as he was economically left-of-centre and hated Reaganomics). He broke this trend and backed Perot in 1996 because he felt Clinton was too left-wing on social issues (he himself being more right-wing) and Bush was too right-wing on economic issues (he himself being more left-wing). In 2000 and 2004, he voted for Nader for personal/racial reasons, but backed McCain in 2008 because he thought McCain was a sensible moderate (and also because he supported Iraq, being an ardent internationalist for personal reasons). Voted for Virgil Goode in 2012 because he determined Romney was far too right-wing on economic matters and Obama far too left-wing on social matters (he thought Goode was a good mixture). Voted for Clinton because of Access Hollywood, and for Trump in 2020 because he thought Biden was much too left-wing on social issues.
