Placer, CA (Jan 1)
Washoe, NV (Jan 1)
Carson, NV (Jan 10)
Douglas, NV (Jan 10)

I expect to add Nevada, CA soon and Sierra, CA fairly soon (I-80 to Reno crosses through it for a couple miles). It's possible I'll end up in El Dorado, CA at some point but there's nothing in particular taking me that way. That'll probably be it for awhile. Gas is too expensive right now for road tripping and Placer County extends something like 100 miles westward.

Lifetime map of counties in Western states. Dark blue: lived in, light blue: stayed overnight in, orange: visited. Alaska was a cruise, so all nights were spent on the ship. I have all my Midwestern counties on a map on an old computer. I don't feel like spending hours trying to reconstruct it from memory, so the nationwide map will have to wait till I get my hands on that computer.

In my lifetime I'd like to turn all of these orange and most of them blue. As lucky as I am to be able to do all this I still feel like I've just scratched the surface of the great West.

Next time you drive to SoCal, you’ll have to take 99 so you can get Tulare County
Sequoia/Kings Canyon is gonna be my last big stop before I head back home.

I might have Muon beat this year. I'm driving across the country starting in a day or two, so I won't have a final map until the 31st.
