I’m at that point now. I just need to finalize it and upload it. Added five states and like 35 counties earlier this month.

Lifetime:

Red: spent the night in
Green: did not spend night in

2022:

For 2022, Maricopa, AZ and then almost everything east of Salt Lake County, UT was new. I had been to Denver and a couple counties around it though.

Lifetime map of counties in Western states. Dark blue: lived in, light blue: stayed overnight in, orange: visited. Alaska was a cruise, so all nights were spent on the ship. I have all my Midwestern counties on a map on an old computer. I don't feel like spending hours trying to reconstruct it from memory, so the nationwide map will have to wait till I get my hands on that computer.

In my lifetime I'd like to turn all of these orange and most of them blue. As lucky as I am to be able to do all this I still feel like I've just scratched the surface of the great West.

After three months and some of 2022, I have been to the following provinces (those I only passed through are in smaller italic font). In other words my only trips outside the immediate surroundings have been - very unsurprisingly - to Genoa and Pisa.

Liguria
Metropolitan City of Genoa
Province of La Spezia

Tuscany
Province of Pisa
Province of Massa and Carrara
Province of Lucca

Updated after visiting Turin with Antonio last Sunday:

Piedmont
Metropolitan City of Turin
Province of Alessandria
Province of Asti

New update after spending more time in Tuscany:

Tuscany
Metropolitan City of Florence
Province of Massa and Carrara
Province of Lucca
Province of Pisa
Province of Prato
Province of Siena

Next time you drive to SoCal, you’ll have to take 99 so you can get Tulare County

Bolded counties are ones I visited for the first time this year. I'll hopefully be adding Richmond NY (and maybe Westchester NY and Fairfield CT) shortly; I'll certainly be adding San Diego, CA this fall.

Added San Diego and Richmond as predicted; also gained Denver, CO and St. Louis County, MO due to layovers and Johnston, Wayne, Harnett and Cumberland, NC.
