Quote
We found that incumbent Governor Brian Kemp has overstayed his welcome with the Republican electorate and a plurality back another candidate, chiefly David Perdue. Furthermore, President Trump’s endorsement of Sen. Perdue serves to further solidify his advantage over Brian Kemp.
Quote
In the head-to-head ballot, Perdue’s lead shoots up from +3 to +22 over Brian Kemp. All of the growth in Perdue’s share of the vote came amongst those who say they are “definitely” voting for him. A slight plurality of voters were already backing Perdue, but once all the RPV heard about Trump’s endorsement, that lead improved significantly.

Intial:
Perdue 47% - Kemp 44%

When informed of President Trump's endorsement:
Perdue 56% - Kemp 34%

The GA GOP should proceed with caution on this one. If Perdue wins the primary, it will prove they’ve learned nothing, and they will be on their way to a Colorado-style collapse. In that case, Abrams will win.

What? Kemp cost Republicans the state, he will do it again in 2024 if he continues as governor. Boot his ass out of there.

Cmon It had nothing to do with him. It’s the Georgia republicans fault during the 2020 cycle not to have seen Georgia as a true swing state. There were warning signs in 2018, and really 2016 too when Cobb and Gwinnett flipped to Hillary Clinton. They fell asleep at the wheel and it allowed the Dems to organize and overtake them in 2020 and 2021. I wouldn’t be surprised if Georgia bucks the overall national trends.

This does nothing to help your case, man. Good luck!

I was told that Kemp's vulnerability is "overblown," though. Even if the anti-Kemp vote is seriously split in the first round, it’s hard to see (and has been the entire year) how Kemp wins the runoff against even a semi-competent Republican.

I would certainly give Perdue an edge in the primary (and he’s a better bet for the GE as well, but that’s still going to be a tough race for the GOP).

The January 5, 2021 begs to differ.

Agreed that this is going to be a tough race for the GOP. Not only is the state getting less and less friendly to them by the month, it's also one of the only states in which the Democratic Party knows how to campaign. Warnock and especially Abrams are good, and bad national environment or not, they're going to be tough to beat.

SirWoodsbury and David Perdue have r*****ed positions. Kemp is actually a good Governor and I hope Perdue lose to Abrams if they primary Kemp out.

It’s a beautiful system, baby. Whatever happens next year, it’ll be nice to see Kemp OR Perdue go down. You guys can fight amongst yourselves to see which one is the biggest loser.
