Duffield - $450,000
Castillo, Fujimori and Walzinger - $300,000
Adams - $291,350

Jordan Adams hosts dinner for potential donors, spending $15,000

The candidate discussed the pandemic. He compared COVID to the flu, and said all mandates should be ended. He said 'career politicians' such as Nancy Pelosi and Gavin Newsom were 'raging hypocrites' for their COVID hypocrisy. He said vaccination is a personal choice, and that he did get vaccinated.

While donors liked a lot of Adams' comments, they did seem to be slightly off-put by his rhetoric comparing COVID19 to the flu, with one donor openly questioning the comparison. When it came time to collect donations, Adams yielded less than he spent on the fundraiser, raising a mere $14,300, a loss of $700.
Adams now has $294 291,350 on hand

Brandon Walzinger declares bid for Colorado's 8th congressional district with rally in Firestone

Thanks for coming out here, everyone! Our nation is in a crisis. Inflation is rising out of control. Our kids are being fed woke socialist propaganda in school. The government is trampling on our God-given civil liberties harder than ever. Are we going to take this lying down? NO! We're going to make our voices heard by sending a message to the swamp creatures in Washington. No more will we be silenced by flag-burning, commie-loving Democrats and spineless, corrupt RINOs. I am a self-made man who has never been afraid to fight for his beliefs. I've spent years fighting back against federal land nationalization, violations of our 2nd Amendment rights, and lockdowns and mask mandates that would've seemed unthinkable here just a couple of years ago. It's times like these that call for a political revolution to take back our freedom from the communist influences that seek to destroy our way of life and the principles our country was founded on! So I hope you'll stand with me in fighting back against government tyranny by supporting my campaign for Congress!

Jordan Adams holds rally in Greeley

Quote
We the people will not stand for this anymore. We are tired of being taken advantage of by the elites. We are tired of our young men and women dying overseas, so the military-industrial complex can profit. We are tired of our jobs being shipped overseas. We are tired of our children being indoctrinated by Marxist teachers. We are tired of illegal aliens coming into the country, thousands at a time. The job of the government is to protect our borders. Well our government is doing a very lousy job of that right now. Most importantly, we are tired of the government getting up in our business. The government shouldn't be forcing masks or vaccines on us. In Congress, I will fight against the Leftist agenda, meanwhile my opponents will cave into the mob. No longer can we afford squishy RINOs in our government

Further Details
December 10 to December 13

December 10: The candidate highlights her support for Medicare for All, inspired by her struggle with leukemia as a child.*
December 11: With her donors, the candidate discussed the Biden administration. While she criticized some aspects of his administration (such as the lack of movement on student debt), she ultimately acknowledged "It's a really tough job, and I think he's doing his best" and praised BBB.
December 12: The candidate is pressed on the subject of COVID-19 mandates. She says she personally opposes mask mandates and supports vaccine mandates ("If you wear 'em, great, if not, fine, as long as you're vaccinated"), but believes that it should not be the role of government to enforce upon private property, nor should businesses enforce vaccine mandates upon the populace (making vaccination a requirement for employment, with exceptions for the immunocompromised, is fine, but the general public should be allowed to visit places without being forced to get vaccinated, although they should wear a mask if they aren't, and she's chosen to continue wearing a mask to signal to the unvaccinated to do the same at least until they get vaccinated). When asked for her position on boosters, she said if she can help it, she'd like to get them once a year, and, in fact, had been boosted last weekend.
December 13: Someone asks the candidate about transgender athletes, because of course they did. She says that while the government should not have a say, that if the government were to have a say, it should be on a case-by-case basis, with one year of HRT being the general rule of thumb.

*Probably should have mentioned that in the profile, forgot about Sarah's leukemia gene, though would it exist in a world without superheroes? Probably not, but my character having had leukemia makes her more interesting, so whatever.

My current schedule of posts:
December 20: December 14 to December 16, further details
December 21: December 17 to December 19, further details
December 22: December 20 to December 22, schedule and further details
The remainder of the turn will be played in real-time, inshallah.

December 11: Holds a small fundraiser in Greeley (-$4,500), courting donations from small donors ($50 per ticket, 250 tickets for sale) and angling for a $1,500 profit.

126 attend, and the remaining 124 seats are empty. Nonetheless, this yields $6300, a profit of $1800.

John Elway-Fundraisers

John Elway is holding two fundraisers this turn.

...

The second, to be held at the Windsor Community Recreation Center on December 13, in Windsor, Colorado, is a Quarterback skills drill done in the style of a prospective NFL scout for donors. The fundraiser will cost $3,000 to set up, donors will pay $5,000 to attend, and there are 50 slots available.

Unfortunately, the high price tag leads to a somewhat empty center. Only 10 of the 50 seats are filled as donors are reluctant to pay so much to attend what they fear will just be cheap politics. Nonetheless, the proceeds are massive, with a whopping $47,000 ($5,000 for 10 seats) raised, a net of $47,000 (Elway spent $3,000 on the event) and add to Elway's growing campaign war chest / coffers.

Finances Update:

Elway - $518,700
Duffield - $450,000
Castillo, Fujimori and Walzinger - $300,000
Adams - $285,350
Castillo-Tozer: $260,300 (this figure accounts for all expenses incurred by the posted campaign schedule, and all proceeds from the fundriaser which has occurred, namely the one on the 11th in Greeley, but not the proceeds from the second and third fundraisers, that will occur in the future, in Brighton on the 14th and in Thorton on the 17th, whose expenses has been accounted for)

Adams has 6,000 people sign up, and since all pay $5 for now, this yields $30,000 - an impressive net of $23,000 for the campaign from this expenditure.

Further Details
December 14 to December 22
Starting December 20 ostensibly with $260,300

December 14: Donors heard a moderate position on gun control on the candidate's behalf. While she supports the right to bear arms responsibly ("Some people like guns, and that's okay"), she believes there should be measures in place to ensure gun owners are responsible, including registration and background checks.
December 15: At her rally in Northglenn, she calls for raising the minimum wage to "at least $12," citing the near-$16 an hour minimum wage in Denver (which costs, on average, 29% more than the country at-large), and suggesting a national bill that ties the wage to both local cost of living (so, for instance, in Northglenn, if the national wage was $13.50, the local wage would be $15.84, while in rural West Virginia, it would be about $10) and inflation (if the Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007, for instance, had been tied to inflation after it fully went into effect in 2009, the federal minimum wage would be $9.39 in 2021). Someone in the crowd shouts "Jesse, what the  are you talking about?"
December 16: The candidate copes and seethes in her Thornton campaign office after meeting with Rep. Titone in Arvada, because the moderator wasn't impressed with just her schedule or the basic rundown of her meeting with Titone (let alone her pussyfooting around pulling the transgender card), although she understands why.
December 17: At her fundraiser in Thornton, the candidate says she hopes to pass a bill legalizing marijuana federally, and decriminalizing other drugs as well. "Pot's already legal here," she was recorded as saying, "and we haven't descended into anarchy yet. It's time to end the war on drugs entirely, and take a rehabilitative approach with those who have been caught in the crossfire, rather than a punitive one."
December 18: At her rally in Brighton, the candidate is pressed on immigration reform. She says she supports a pathway to citizenship for all non-violent undocumented immigrants, and praised the move of President Biden to end the use of detention centers.
December 19: The newspaper ad highlights the candidate's record as an attorney. In something completely different, the candidate also does the math with regards to this tweet on her campaign's Twitter account. Long story short: While she agrees we should raise the minimum wage, the Dickensian allegory for destitution is actually $3.13 an hour in 2021, not $13.50. She later tweets out a correction: The $3.13 number is for 2020; it's $3.36 in 2021. On her private account, she unleashes a stream of what might be (okay, what certainly is) profanity of notable creativity and enthusiasm with regards to Joe Manchin.
December 20: At her rally in Greeley (-$6,000), the candidate makes a remark about the Republican primary, namely that while Mr. Adams and Mr. Walzinger claim the other is "a RINO", they ultimately will vote the same way if elected to Congress, giving tax cuts to the rich and screwing over the middle class.
December 21: The candidate orders internal polling (-$800) after the success of her fundraiser.
December 22: At a fundraiser ($50x150) held in Greeley (-$3,500), where a $1,000 profit is hoped for, the candidate discusses with donors her annoyance with Joe Manchin (although not quite in the ways she put them on her private Twitter account three days earlier) for sinking BBB, and described the President delaying student debts again until May 2022 as a welcome surprise.

The candidate spends the rest of her turn, ending with $250,000 before her final three fundraisers of the turn, at her Thornton home, celebrating the holiday with her girlfriend and visiting mothers. Press releases will be made as needed.

(Yeah, sorry I turned Carmen from a generic Berniecrat into a Bat Out of Hell Democrat. Also sorry I didn't follow through with my schedule. Hope OBD and VAR don't mind me ignoring Pedro and Keiko until they officially start running.)

The internal polling was sent to the candidate.

At the Brighton fundraiser, 23 seats are filled, yielding $4600, a profit of $600.
At the Thorton fundraiser, an impressive 177 attend. This yields $8850, a profit of $2750.
Finally, 115 attend the Greeley fundraiser, yielding $5750 (profit: $2250).

Since the candidate had $260,300 before, she now has $270,000.

ROUND 1 COMPLETE; ROUND 2 STARTING
The round will last through January 6-8, at which point the third round will begin with updated polling.

The current polling stands at:

General Election Polling:
 - Generic Republican candidate: 42%
 - Generic Democratic candidate: 42%
 - Independent John Elway: 4%
 - Independent Green Jo Duffield: 2%
 - Undecided: 10%

The GOP retains a narrow edge in the general election polling over the Democrats, though it is now very narrow. And a significant 10% of voters are still undecided. Independent John Elway has fundraised very impressively, increasing profile - he now stands at 4% in polls. Lastly, moderate Independent Green Jo Duffield remains at 2%.

Republican Primary Polling:
 - Safe Adams: 13%
 - Lean Adams: 14%
 - Safe Walzinger: 10%
 - Lean Walzinger: 9%
 - Safe Fujimori: 12%
 - Lean Fujimori: 3%
 - Undecided: 39%
In the GOP primary, a significant sect of voters - 2/5 - remain undecided. Importantly, Jordan Adams campaigned hard and fundraised, while Keiko Fujimori did not at all campaign, and Brandon Walzinger campaigned very little. This leads to both stagnating in support as Adams adds to his support.

Democratic Primary Polling:
 - Safe Castillo-Tozer: 8%
 - Lean Castillo-Tozer: 21%
 - Safe Castillo: 7%
 - Lean Castillo: 18%
 - Undecided: 46%
Carmen Castillo-Tozer campaigned vigorously this round, while Pedro Castillo did not. Predictably, his support dropped slightly, while Castillo-Tozer soared and has created a large lead, from a virtual tie last round.

John Elway-Endorsement Chase

John Elway traveled far and wide seeking endorsements. He headed to Rhode Island to court former Governor of Rhode Island Lincoln Chafee, to Ohio to court former Governor John Kasich, to Illinois to court Representative Adam Kinzinger, and to Wyoming to court Representative Liz Cheney.

With each stop, Elway presented himself as someone who would be neither a hard core Democrat nor a Trumpist, and someone who would put the country over his political affiliations.

John Elway-Fundraisers

Elway held just one fundraiser this week, a online raffle in which the winner would get one year's worth of luxury box tickets to Stanford Unversity's Football team, Elway's alma matter.

The tickets cost $20,000 to procure, entry is $100 for one raffle ticket, $1,000 for five raffle tickets, $10,000 for 100 raffle tickets, and Elway's campaign is expecting roughly 10,000-20,000 total raffle tickets to be sold.

The current polling stands at:

General Election Polling:
- Generic Republican candidate: 42%

- Independent Green Jo Duffield: 2%
- Undecided: 8%

The GOP retains a narrow edge in the general election polling over the Democrats, though it is still very narrow. And a significant 10% of voters are still undecided. Independent John Elway has gotten the first endorsement of the race, that of the Republican-turned-Democrat-turned-Libertarian former governor of Rhode Island (and onetime candidate for the Libertarian presidential nomination), Lincoln Chaffee, now residing in next-door Wyoming, who has a reputation of centrism. This important endorsement, coupled with a fundraising haul, has given Elway an impressive 6% in the polls (very impressive for a third-party candidate), as well as an imposing and potentially very powerful campaign war chest. Jo Duffield's support remains at a mere 2%, meanwhile.

Republican Primary Polling:
- Safe Adams: 13%
- Lean Adams: 14%
- Safe Walzinger: 10%
- Lean Walzinger: 9%
- Safe Fujimori: 12%
- Lean Fujimori: 3%
- Undecided: 39%
No campaigning this turn, and polling remains exactly as it was at the conclusion of the previous round.

Democratic Primary Polling:
- Safe Castillo-Tozer: 8%
- Lean Castillo-Tozer: 21%
- Safe Castillo: 7%
- Lean Castillo: 18%
- Undecided: 46%

Following the Securing of Lincoln Chafee's endorsement, John Elway will be attempting court, largely by phone, the endorsements of Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY), Representative Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), former Governor John Kasich (R-OH), Representative Jared Golden (D-ME), Senator Angus King (I-ME), former Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and former Governor Brian Sandoval (R-NV).

Elway pitched his political independence, and promised reciprocal endorsements to Cheney and Golden in 2022, and to King in 2024, if they endorsed him.

John Elway-Fundraisers

John Elway again had a single fundraiser this week.

This fundraiser was a No-Limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament held at Ameristar Black Hawk Casino, in Gilpin on January 12. This tournament cost $3,000 to enter, the prizepool is $5,000, with only the winner being paid regardless of the number of entrants, and there are $250 bounties on Elway, Lincoln Chafee, and three retired members of the Denver Broncos, Terrell Davis, Jason Elam and Al Wilson. In all, around 200-250 total entrants are expected.

The campaign contributed $7,500 towards renting the casino floor, $5,000 towards first prize, and $1,250 towards the bounties in the tournament.
