Assume that the two parties don't exist.  Maps?

I'd vote for Jesus, but Straha would probably win because his views are more mainstream, at least as reflected by his political matrix score.  However, the election would probably be decided as much on personalities as on issues.

I'm left to choose to between a dumbass and a jackass. It's tough...but I would probably vote for Straha because he at least tries to contribute to intelligent conversation where as Jesus...well...you've read his posts.

I seem to be the only one who actually enjoys Straha's posts.  Perhaps I haven't been long enough to see the evil of his ways.  While he enjoys taking extreme positions (not letting local government make any decisions? WTF?) he does it in a personal, not hackish, way.  While he is often offensive, it's in a sardonic, not bitter and humorless, manner.  He adds color and perspective to counterbalance the often stereotypic behavior of many of the posters.

As for Jesus, I just enjoy his posts.  So I was expecting this to be more of a strong, but ambiguous personalities matchup than, as adam put it, "a dumbass and a jackass."

Straha is just annoying. Jesus actually has coherent political positions. So, Jesus by default.

Exactly.  I care not for political views right now, so I'm just going to stick with the norm and vote for who I like more.

Despite his caustic persona, Jesus actually contributes useful information to the Atlas - much more than most of us, in fact.  Straha, on the other hand, really is completely pointless.  As well as contributing nothing meaningful whatsoever and trying too hard to be funny, he's not even a friendly person.  Oh, and also pretty naive, too.  He actually managed to have an 'ironic' flamewar with somebody after failing to get a joke, but clearly thought the whole argument was serious.  That's a truly impressive kind of stupid.

Jesus's Atlas persona isn't really his real one.  He does some of that crap on AIM, but for the most part he's actually a normal, intelligent person with non-batsh**t political views.  And he contributes a lot to the Atlas.  He may troll a good deal, but he contributes more.

Straha, on the other hand, is one of the few posters who genuinely annoys me.  He contributes nothing and I'm done with saying nice things about him, because asking nicely doesn't even work.  He's just clueless.

Then ban him!

Cluelessness is not valid grounds for banning.
