I didn't realize that. But I still don't think that optimism is warranted. I suspect that the transit mask mandate could last for at least another few years.

Mask mandates do very little compared to vaccines. The thread title indicates this is more about messaging/looking tough on COVID than addressing the virus, and the messaging is probably out-of-touch.

Yeah, if there's one thing the establishment Democrats are known for, it's making you wear masks while they don't. Even after the new CDC guidance about masking for vaccinated people, Biden doesn't exactly go around wearing a mask.

I have noticed that the media has now taken to emphasizing cases in people who are fully vaccinated BUT "haven't had their booster shots." And some countries are now beginning to mandate booster shots. Such mandates will inevitably appear in the United States. At this point, it's obvious to me that we are indeed in a new normal, and the conditions of 2019 will not reappear.

What exactly are you suffering from because some others out there are not making the same choice you are? Covid infections? Mandatory masks? (doubt in Idaho)

Yes? The more people that are unvaccinated the higher the chance of a breakthrough case (which, while unlikely, becomes a lot more of a risk when every other person you encounter is a potential risk) and more importantly, increases the risk of mutations that can potentially make the vaccine less effective or even worthless. You're post is as good a point as saying "What exactly are you suffering from because some others out there are not making the same choices to drive sober as you are? Car accidents?" The answer is a very obvious yes.

If you're anti mandate, you're anti-vax. There's no way to get around that
