VA is safe D, the Gov race flipped like last time after 8 yrs under D control in 21 where our US H candidates weren't in the ballot, Bobby Scott would be Fav over Sears if the was the ticket for Gov next cycle

Lean D. VA will probably trend more Democratic than it is now, so it’d be a heavier lift than the Governor race this year. Additionally, it is a federal race where crossover support is less likely.

Of course Warner would also have incumbency advantage, but frankly McAuliffe kind of did as well so I don’t think that’d be a significant factor in the race.

If Youngkin is an extremely popular governor I could see moving this to Tilt D. Obviously an R winning the presidency in 2024 would completely take this off the table of competitiveness. And I still think Warner will win, just in more of a 2014 style race.

It wont be safe Gop.

Its a federal race and id be inclined to think Warner pulls it out. But I mentioned before this situation would be very very close.

It really depends on what approval ratings and the general state of the country is like but I could see either one winning with a slight tilt towards the incumbent.
