Thanksgiving, despite the racial baggage behind the holiday, is a day to be thankful for the things that you have, especially in today's America.

A lot of people feel that American leftists don't have gratitude or thanks for this country, that they should be glad that they have the opportunities that America still has..........

Same thing with rightists, etc.

What are you thankful for?

I'm thankful especially for the First Amendment and the protections it provides for speech and worship.

I'm thankful for two excellent jury verdicts this week that preserved my faith in the justice system.

Thanksgiving itself. Nothing builds solidarity, community, and peace quite like a shared feast. The basic menu remains the same, but there are endless variations to each dish. Specific dishes from different cultures can also be included. The holiday's versatility and adaptability to Americans from diverse ethnic backgrounds is something to be truly admired.

I’m thankful that the majority of people in America have clean water and have enough food to eat. As much as America may have it’s problems, we still enjoy much better liberties and quality of life than most of the world.

I am thankful that America still has wilderness — great open spaces devoid of established settlements and, for the most part, people entirely. Europe destroyed most of theirs; despite continuing threats, we still have a lot.

The only difference between the Georgia inbreds and sh**ttenhouse is less competent defense lawyers in the former case and a mentally incapacitated judge in the latter case.

I'm thankful for being blessed with the light of Islam in my life and I'm thankful for all the work my grandfather and my dad had put in to immigrate to this country from Pakistan in order to have a better life for me to eventually be here.

The correct answer for 99.9% of this board: being born white.

White people have such spoken and unspoken advantages in this country. Being white is playing on easy mode.

Yeah, I’m sure the white people in Owsley County, KY, with 50% of them being below the poverty line, are saying “at least I’m white!” today.

I have been told UMC BIPOC face greater challenges than whites below the poverty line. Who am I to disagree?

I'm thankful that most people in this country still at heart care most about family, friends, faith (if applicable), food, and ftelling "big" corporate concerns and the rentier-heavy components of the public and nonprofit sectors to get the hell out of our faces, despite the best efforts of culture warriors to make us care most about inane gripes and hostilities instead.

I mean it took an expensive legal team for one and mass protests to expose the corruption behind the second. It did give me a bit more trust with the jury system though.

I'm thankful to live in a country where half wits are free to say stupid things on the internet like this.

imagine still being so ill-informed at this point?  And proud of it!
