This poll will remain open until SCOTUS makes a decision for this case.

I'm uncertain, but leaning No. I still think that it is more likely the three liberals, Roberts, and Kavanaugh (along with one or both of Gorsuch and Barrett) subscribe to a majority opinion (and for the liberals, only in part), that permits for broader abortion restrictions, such as those contemplated by Mississippi, but which reiterates Roe v. Wade and does not discard it entirely.

I believe so and because of that Democrats will hold both chambers of Congress after 2022

I believe it will be overturned in a 5-1-3 decision with Roberts being alone.

I don't think it would cost Republicans that much unless they tried to instate very draconian abortion laws in every state where they have power immediately after the decision. And even then, Republicans, unlike Democrats, are almost never punished for "going too far."

Alito openly admitted he wants to declare fetal personhood. He considers overruling Roe v Wade to be too liberal.

If they go that far, that alone would be the end of the SCOTUS then and there. They will be seen as being a real as wrasslin' if the current stunt they are about to pull isn't enough.

It will be de facto overturned similar to Plessy v. Ferguson.

Roe V. Wade was overturned in 1992, technically, but if you’re asking if SCOTUS will overturn the legal right to abortion, the answer is no.

Technically, that's inaccurate — Casey modified certain aspects of Roe while leaving the core holding intact. The Court explicitly said that "the validity of Roe's central holding" stands.

It wasn't overturned entirely. The Court discarded Roe's trimester framework and strict scrutiny standards in 1992, but reaffirmed Roe's basic holding about the constitutional right to an abortion.

I suppose “partially overturned” would have been a more accurate phrasing.
