Republicans would really make a terrible choice by not nominating Baker. I think Baker may actually have the best chance to retain his position by running as a Democrat.

I think Good Ol' Charlie should ditch the GOP once and for all.  He has no likeness to what they've become.  Maybe in 1972 he would have been a nice sturdy stable Republican that said no to tax increases and yes to the ERA, but those days are long over.  He should be an Indie, and it would be cool for MA to have an independent governor.

Not that I disagree with that point, but I perish the thought that Baker would even be considered by Democratic primary voters, and I doubt he considers the option at all.

In any case I hope Healey wins.

Tbh, at this point in time I actually expect Baker to retire and not run for a 3rd term.

It is somewhat of a shame that Baker didn't run as an independent, as the town maps would have been interesting for sure.
