When people say that JCF would have done just as bad as Mcauliffe they simply do not know why Mcauliffe lost the way he did. It happened because the suburbs reverted back to the mean. And because black and youth turnout cratered under Mcauliffe he could not counteract the shift. If Terry had got Northam’s turnout amongst black voters he would have won. People want to blame voters for staying at home, they are really blaming black voters because that's who stayed at home in VA in Nov 2021. And that happened because spent his entire campaign in NOVA claiming how bad trump was. It was pathetic. JCF probably juices black turnout and wins.
People want to claim that nominating people like JCF is too risky but Mcauliffe lost a Biden +10 state using the entire DNC strategy of trying to win the suburbs. But we can’t nominate people like JCF because it makes wealthy people in Loudon County feel uncomfortable. Give me a break.

and yes.. in VA Dems need suburbs to win and contrary to popular belief.. if anything they are to the left of many suburbs nationally.
