Voting eligibility was set at 15 for a while before being raised to 40 as a response to concerns over off site registration. This would make it easier for new voters to register to vote without having to climb the hurdle of 40 posts and bring Atlasia back to more of an equilibrium, how it was for many years.

I don't think we need to be tampering with the activity requirements any longer. We need to discourage zombies from gaining ease of access to this site. The 40 posts requirement does just that. Many could just bus in zombies without difficulty and quickly reach the lower threshold. I stand opposed to any changes to this law.

At the current point in Atlasia I don't think that will be an issue. What happened in February was a rare incident and I don't see it being repeated anytime soon.

The only thing that is "stopping it" is someone zealous enough to want to do it being active themselves to do so.

I don't support this, these measures were put in place to discourage a wave of offsite recruiting and lifting them would reopen the door to that possibility.

We might need some of that right now to spice up activity.

If we seriously believe that we need to recruit offsite trolls who will contribute nothing to this game to restore activity, then perhaps restoring activity is not a good thing. Anyways, I'd argue the offsite surge if anything led to our current inactivity as it led to great toxicity, which led to people, both active players and zombies, fleeing the game. These current restrictions are necessary, and I'm not convinced we will not end up regretting this. Needless to say, my position on this is firm and nothing will convince me to support this.

I motion for a final vote because the debate has died down.

Your opinion that the argument was not "valid" is surely not a reasonable grounds to block a final vote? If you aren't convinced, then vote no.

IDK if it is still germane to do so at this point but we do technically have a cloture vote open.

The vote is on whether to move to a final vote; please vote Aye, Nay, or Abstain.

I've been debating this for a while and I've decided that, if this bill comes to my desk in its current form, I'm going to submit a redraft for 30 posts.

Given that half of new active posters have turned out to be socks, I don't think that's an unreasonable number.

We might need some of that right now to spice up activity.

Unless you have the culture of activity in place in which to channel said new members as well as a desire on the part of new members to engage in such, from a practical standpoint, new members will merely lead to a temporary surge, followed by another period of Peebs getting a taste of Thanos Act.

There needs to be a greater and comprehensive understanding of integrating new people into the game, beyond just getting them on the rolls otherwise, sheer numbers will just be pushing on a string activity wise.

People like OSR should be blocked from zombie registration in other regions and camping out there permanently.

Interestingly under the current rules I wouldn't have been able to register until after several more months at my posting rate back then.

I don't know why you've recently been fixated with OSR in particular, Crane, but he did not make a "zombie registration" in any sense of the word. He was an active officeholder prior to moving and he has been an active officeholder since.
