Putin will be a DEAD MAN walking once the United States has a Republican President in 2025. Given the Comments made by Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina there is every indication once the US switches Power to a Republican President that President could then authorize a Special Operation just like Obama did with Bin Laden in 2010 to capture or kill Putin.

Remember: Soft Joe Biden was even against capturing or killing Bin Laden in 2010 and Obama had to overrule him!

Honestly, it's really difficult to find any major holes in the statements or opinions expressed by the author of the Op-Ed.

Per CNN from 4 hours ago:

"Exhaustion of "confined" Chernobyl power plant staff poses "danger" to world, says nearby mayor

The growing exhaustion of staffers confined for “10 days” at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is not only “difficult," but could pose “a danger to the world,” Yuriy Fomichev, the mayor of Slavutych, told CNN in a telephone interview on Saturday.

“People are tired; they are exhausted, both mentally and emotionally, but mainly physically,” Fomichev said, adding that more than 100 people in the plant are shift personnel who should have been handed over after 12 hours.

“A nuclear facility run by the same shift of 100 people without a break for 10 days in a row means their concentration levels are too low … the main thing we want to convey is that it is very dangerous,” Fomichev said.
Staffers in the plant only eat one meal per day and have limited amount of time to contact their families, Fomichev said.

Slavutych, a city in northern Ukraine, was purposefully built in 1986 to house evacuated personnel from the Chernobyl power plant, the site of the world’s worst nuclear disaster.

Anybody got any more info on this?

Saw this on the NYT posted two hours ago....

"Prime Minister Naftali Bennett of Israel is in Moscow for a meeting with President Vladimir V. Putin about the war in Ukraine, according to reports in Israeli media and state-controlled media in Russia."

Haaretz report here.

NYT just posted on this as well for anybody interested.

That's your point of view. There's a country of 1.4 billion people who strongly disagree and believe that NATO expansionism and refusal to compromise provoked Russia into the war. There's another country of 1.3 billion or so people that also disagree, maybe not for the same reason or as strongly, but enough that their government's actions are indistinguishable from those of the first. Yes, it's true that the Western world is united in this view, and given their combined economic and cultural clout they're able to intimidate other countries that are not China or India into taking this view, and so it feels like the situation is black and white. In other words might makes right. I thought you guys hated this principle?

This is so weird... At 0:17, you can see Putin's hand just going through the microphone. He's not in the room with those people:

Putin is so magic, he can touch and walk through things others can't!

Trump will not be President. Pence, DeSantis I suspect could indeed authorize such a Special Operation. Putin has to stand TRAIL, period!

I'm not optimistic about the situation at all. It is clear that Putin has miscalculated the situation very badly, but now they have no way back, which means the Russian attack could get a lot more brutal as things progress. The West must step up its game. Putin wants us to believe he's going to nuke Washington D.C. and Brussels if we do, but he's really not. I don't think a no-fly zone is helpful at this point, but we need to deliver a lot more arms to Ukraine and isolate Russia further.

And apparently yet more Russian soldiers with door issues!

(I sense a meme coming from somewhere)

Like banging on an elevator door with rifle butts is going to do anything, let alone firing at it in an elevator is a good idea.

If one were to get really creative, you stick them between floors, sabotage the elevator control system, blare the Ukrainian national anthem on a constant loop through the speaker system interspersed with colorful language in Russian using pejorative comments regarding Putin's mother, knowing that once they are finally able to escape the "elevator entrapment" scenario, they will be ruthlessly ridiculed by their fellow soldiers for not having the common sense to have taken the stairs!

Is what a brain dead post  Considering Biden has done everything conceivable to support the Ukraine aggressively with arms and diplomatic and economic support, while the Republican party has assiduously backed a guy who  Not only made Shipment of arms to the Ukraine contingent upon Digging up dirt on his political rival, but praised Putin not only throughout his administration for 4 years but even the day before the invasion is to what a smart and tough guy he has.

Soft Joe Biden my a**. Do you think before you post? Do you think ever? Stop hacking you hack.

Sure, because it will be super easy taking Putin out.

Lindsey Graham and Mike Pence can talk all they want, they don`t hold any responsibility.

Biden on the other hand has to deal with reality. He has to be carefull with all his moves. Because WWIII and nuclear war are real possibilities.

I wonder whether, once this is said and done, Russia will be forced to pay reparations or whether there will be a dispute over the question of lifting sanctions, possibly beyond Putin's reign. Since this is an unprovoked attack on a sovereign country, Russia definitely must pay reparations to the government and the people of Ukraine for everything they have done.

The parallels to 1940 are very eerie indeed.

Volodymyr Zelensky Leads the Defense of Ukraine with His Voice

At the most consequential hour in Europe since the collapse of the Soviet Union, a comedian has assumed the role of Winston Churchill.

Israeli Prime Minister Bennet on diplomatic mission: He met Putin earlier today and will later be hosted by Olaf Scholz. This comes just days after Scholz was in Israel for talks.

On that note, this was just posted by the Washington Post, which has footage

"Video shows two aircrew members parachuting from a downed Russian jet Saturday in Chernihiv, Ukraine, according to the Ukraine State Emergency Service (SES).

The SES shared photos on Twitter on Saturday showing the smoking remnants of the jet in the city that lies about 95 miles north of Kyiv. Officials said on social media that the plane had been shot down and two people rescued.

The Post verified the visuals and, using the number “24” on the plane’s vertical stabilizer, determined the aircraft was a Sukhoi Su-34 fighter jet. The same plane was photographed in 2019 in Russia by plane spotters, and the identification was confirmed by Tony Wilson of the Security Force Monitor at the Columbia Law School’s Human Rights Institute.

A billowing column of black smoke from the crash site could be seen from half a mile away, according to a video verified by The Post
.

By the end of all this, Russia will be (permanently) so cut down to size as a Great Power that we may no longer have to hold Europe's hand next time -they will be more than capable of dealing with Russia on their own if it misbehaves again.

Sure, if the West wants to follow emotions instead of logic and reason, it should impose reparations.

Remember who was forced to pay reparations after WW1, and what that lead to?

There is a reason America didnt suck Germany/Japan/the Axis dry after WW2. They realized that it does not work, breeds resentment & instability, and ultimately leads back to square 1.

If Russia does manage to turn itself into a functional (somewhat liberal) democracy, the only sane thing to do is Marshall Plan 2.0.
