Round Four picks:

William McKinley (19th Century) (R-OH)

Tom Daschle (20th Century) (D-SD)

Angus King (I-ME) (21st Century)

I'm afraid that you already picked James G. Blaine for your Maine selection. Would you care to look elsewhere for your 21st century pick this round, NY Express?

Yeah, let's try Mary Landrieu (D-LA) for that selection.

Enter...Round 5!

You may wish to peruse our google doc at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10z5XiwpLLLnnMLnUP3U0QKKJmoOJ4oEjEho6CGrzHLs/edit?usp=sharing. I recommend consulting it before you make your picks each round to ensure that 1) your picks haven't already been taken by someone else; and 2) you aren't picking for a state you've already selected.

Remember, the objective is to pick ~your~ dream Congress, with one person from each state. However, due to the higher than anticipated number of participants in the first round, I'm combining Alaska and Hawaii into one "state" for the purposes of this exercise to make sure everyone can pick someone they like.

So go ahead and make your round 4 picks, keeping in mind that: 1) you can't pick someone already drafted; 2) you need to draft exactly one person from each state over the course of this activity; 3) each round you need to draft someone who served in the 18/19th century, the 20th century, and the 21st century.

If you missed any previous rounds, that's no problem! You can draft for this round as well as any previous missed rounds, as long as they fit the above-mentioned parameters.

This round will last 48-ish hours, or roughly until noon EST on Saturday.

I'm afraid George Norris was already drafted, FalterInArc. Would you like to pick someone else as your 20th century pick?

18/19th cen.: Lewis P. Featherstone of Arkansas. A populist who aligned with Republicans to win a congressional seat for one term. Also was one of the very few Southerners willing to support the Force Bill that would have ensured federal support for fair elections in Dixie.

20th cen.: Mark O. Hatfield of Oregon, who was the most prominent evangelical Christian in politics before the Religious Right came into maturity around 1980. His critical stance against the Vietnam War cost him dearly among his co-religionists.

21st cen.: Lucy McBath of Georgia. Hopefully the vanguard of a new kind of suburban Georgia politician.
