You see, what we have here is a pie-chart showing that by increasing the number of candidates, you increase voter activity, therefore Perot wins.

I voted for Bush, but I meant to vote for Ann Richards. She was truly a great lady.

This would not be a close election.  Bush would realize a substantial victory.

Bush trounced Richards in the Texas Gubernatorial election, and he would trounce her nationally.

Bush                  334 EV      53% PV
Richards            182  EV      41% PV
Perot                   22  EV        6% PV

Bush Sr. was born in Massachusetts, raised in Connecticut, then moved to Texas.

Bush Jr. was born in Connecticut, but, of course, moved to Texas.

The rest, as they say, is history.

If I may add something...........what if Richards picked Lloyd Bentsen or Bill Clinton as her running mate?

I don't see why Richards would do so much worse against Bush nationally than Gore or Kerry did, considering she did much better than either Gore or Kerry in Texas against Bush in the 1994 race (and in a strongly Republican year, I might add).

Perot gets Oregon? Isn't that a pretty solid Blue State? I could see Perot getting maybe Alaska, Maine, and Wyoming?

She couldn't pick Lloyd Bensten, unless he moved out of Texas.

No, she could.  They just could not receive the electoral votes of Texas.

Umm, getting six percent of the vote doesn't get you close to winning one state, unless you are regional Southern candidate.
