The fact that they’re not citizens doesn’t justify literally denying everyone the chance to move here.

The Republican platform and probably the typical Republican embraces immigration. The 2016-20 platform was the first to call for any reduction in legal immigration in many, many years (probably since 1920 or 1924) and even then, it was only a call for a modest reduction in the number holding lawful permanent status, which could also be read as a call to reduce backlogs at INS.
