Would be a complete abortion ban vs an indefinite immigration moratorium for the record.

Personally I'm extremely opposed to any Immigration Moratorium, far, far more so than a total abortion ban.

These are both morally reprehensible policies, but an abortion ban is more evil in my opinion.

Immigration ban, even if a total abortion ban goes too far for me.

A complete abortion ban goes a bit far, but an indefinite immigration moratorium is more objectionable in my view, especially if it were to include refugees.

Accidentally answered that I agreed with both, meant to answer immigration moratorium, as I obviously support immigration. I think abortion should only be legal when in rare choices when its a choice between saving the fetus and the mother.

An abortion ban is terrible, but an immigration moratorium is the epitome of cruelty and is unironically fascist.

So the wants of foreigners should supersede the rights of American women? Am I understanding this correctly?

No less people, but much less citizens. Rights of citizens who are presently here matter more than would-be-rights of people elsewhere, no?

The fact that they’re not citizens doesn’t justify literally denying everyone the chance to move here.

Both are awful, but if forced to pick I would most likely vote for someone who was anti-abortion but pro-immigration over someone who was pro-choice but anti-immigration.

While I am Center-Right on both issues, at the end of the day I think an immigration moratorium would be worse for our nation

The immigration moratorium. I can occasionally end up sympathizing with pro-life arguments, even if I detest them in the end. Not the case with immigration.

This isn't remotely difficult for me since I strongly support a total abortion ban and oppose a total immigration moratorium.

Are you sure you are a Republican?

Isn't the usual Republican platform now to support a total ban on abortion AND immigration?

I support both but I support the immigration moratorium more strongly and absolutely.

The Republican platform and probably the typical Republican embraces immigration. The 2016-20 platform was the first to call for any reduction in legal immigration in many, many years (probably since 1920 or 1924) and even then, it was only a call for a modest reduction in the number holding lawful permanent status, which could also be read as a call to reduce backlogs at INS.

I'm personally opposed to an immigration moratorium but I can understand why some in labor would support restrictions due to big business competing for cheaper wages using borderline slave labor.

Wouldn't be an issue if there were more adequate protections for immigrant workers.
