This is an interesting matchup cause ExtremeRepublican and BG-NY are pretty much opposites  when it comes to their views.

ExtremeRepublican is extremely economically and socially conservative but is more liberal on issues like immigration and more of an intervenionist than isolationist on foreign policy while BG-NY is extremely leftist on economic issues and very socially progressive on all the social issues Extreme is really conservative on but is very right wing on immigration and an isolationist on foreign policy.

For who would win in a matchup assume that ExtremeRepublican is the Republican candidate and BG-NY is the Democratic candidate

Uhhhh. Wow. Hard to come up with a worse matchup of posters. ER is definitely more of an FF than BG-NY but his political views are terrifying to say the least.

ExtremeRepublican / ExtremeRepublican

And he'd win by a lot

I like BG-NY a lot personally, but I would vote for ExtremeRepublican mostly due to social issues and think he would win.

It would depend on who was less likely to get the most abhorrent parts of their agenda through. And that I'm not sure of.

BG-NY could do it, and I will happily carry him over for my own self-preservation.

BG-NY seems to base most of his opinions on something other than just a reflexive adherence to dogmatism, so him.

I'd probably spoil my ballot, but ER would win easily, lots of Democrats are spoiling their ballots or maybe even picking ER over BG-NY.

So in other words (based on the summary in OP) BG-NY is pretty much right on every issue and ExtremeRepublican is pretty much wrong on every issue + an extremist.  Not a hard choice.

BG-NY is an anti-Semite and wants to ban immigration.

Yeah, it's crazy that out of a dozen odd comments nobody cares that "BG-NY" wants to literally ban immigration.

And it's really strange that people think this will have no electoral impact in large states with lots of immigrants and descendants of immigrants, and that somehow "BG-NY" is a better candidate

California'd be close is all I'm saying

And Texas and Florida? Forget about them

"BG-NY" would be lucky to keep them within Bush '04 margins

Nothing against "BG-NY" personally though I just don't think that his candidacy would have all the popularity you all think its cracked up to be

I don't share BG-NY's stances on some of these issues, I just feel that ER would be extremely unpopular on a number of issues. It'd be a "Pick your poison" sort of election.

Ignoring everything else, I'm happy to say I lost 90 pounds last year.  I've probably put about 15 back on, but I'm not nearly as fat as I once was.

Also, I'm really not sure what your big issue with me is, but you always seem to dislike me for something beyond my views.

Why do you all act like this lol

It's not like "ExtremeRepublican" (to my knowledge) wants to ban women from voting, or women from working, or banning divorce.

Literally the only thing is that he wants that affects women is a full ban on all abortion, and even if you (like me) think that's a little much, you have to admit that it isn't Hitler-level

And if he campaigns without emphasizing it or making it a national referendum on full abortion restrictions, then you all underestimate how extraordinarily easy it'll be for him to win. Look at his opponent and tell me that he'd lose to "BG-NY" in the Southwest.

Well I guess the question is, is a full ban on abortion or a complete moratorium on immigration more offensive to persuadable voters? It’s an interesting question.

Maybe I’ll make the poll on the IP board.

I like BG's views more on foreign policy even though I think he's extreme on them, but I like Extreme Republicans views on social issues. I disagree with both of their economic views as I'm somewhere in the middle but I'll probably go with Extreme Republican since he's pro-life. It would be overall a FF election regardless of who wins as long as the winner maintains democracy and freedom.

Ultimately it comes down to Ohio which is tied between strong evangelical support for ExtremeRepublican as well neo-nationalist support for BG.

Something looks very 2004ish about that map.  Interestingly, I've always felt that I fit 2004's definition of an ultra-ultra-conservative far better than I fit any modern definition of one.

Here's my explanation:

Immigration/trade would lead IA, MI, WI & PA as well as ME-2 to vote for BG-NY.

VA, NC, GA, NV, AZ, NE-2, NM & CO would vote for ExtremeRepublican for the same reason. CO would be the least receptive because of marijuana, but ultimately the Latinos of the state would put ExtremeRepublican over the top.

Florida would be close but the evangelicals of North Florida and Cubans opposed to Socialism would narrowly put  Extreme Republican over the top.

Ohio could come down to only a few votes due to strong evangelical support for ExtremeRepublican and crossover GOP support because of BG-NY's stances on immigration/trade. Ultimately it will likely be decided by the courts which will give the state to ExtremeRepublican, much like how Bush won Florida in 2000.
