Oregon State lost to Samford last night.  Not Stanford...Samford.

#22 St. Bonaventure was down big in the second half to Clemson, but used a 16-0 run to take the lead and then hung on to win 68-65.

#5 Villanova all over #17 Tennessee at the half, 35-15 in a neutral-site game.

Purdue defeated Villanova today and looks very much like a national title contender.

The Pac-12's rough start continues as Oregon State follows up their loss to Samford with a loss to Princeton.

We're now through the first week of this double-week pick'em.  I'm currently in the lead at 11-5, with Illiniwek at 9-7.

Tulane and Drexel are currently in a rain delay.

(The arena roof is leaking.)

After a delay of several hours, the game was moved to another arena and Tulane eventually won in overtime.

We have a #1 vs #2 game tonight as Gonzaga and UCLA are meeting in Las Vegas at 10pm EST.  Gonzaga is a 6-point favorite.

The Big Ten continues to lose high profile non-conference games, as Michigan lost the Roman Main Event final to Arizona 80-62 on Sunday, and Yesterday, Cincinnati defeated #14 Illinois at the Hall of Fame Classic 71-51, while Lafayette defeated Rutgers 53-51, and Providence defeated Northwestern at the Legends Classic 77-72.

I watched the Cincy-Illinois game for a while.  Illinois looked terrific in the first half (leading by 15 at one point) but just didn't show up in the second.

Gonzaga is clearly head and shoulders above everyone else at this point.  Who's #2?  Purdue perhaps?

#12 Houston beats up Oregon, 78-49, a day after a heartbreaking loss to Wisconsin.  In last night's game, Wisconsin came out on fire and led by 20 at the half.  In the second half, Houston gradually chipped away at the lead and scored to close the margin to 2 with about 35 seconds left.  Rather than fouling, they let the Badgers run the shot clock all the way down.  This looked like a good strategy as Wisconsin then missed a shot, and Houston got the rebound to a guard who raced up court.  But instead of taking a three (which he had a decent look at) he chose to pass to a teammate cutting toward the basket -- too late, as the clock expired before they got a shot off.

Earlier this evening at the ESPN events invitational, Iona shocked #10 Alabama 72-68.

It won’t be long before Rick Pitino is back at a high-major school.

....and Kansas (ranked #4) loses at home on a miracle bounce of a last-second shot to a team that was 2-3 coming in, with losses to Lipscomb, Austin Peay, and UMass-Lowell.  I love college basketball. Smiley

Great game going between Gonzaga and Duke.

With just under two minutes to go, Duke leads 75-73.

Terrific game by Duke.  I expect them to be ranked #1 this week, followed by Purdue.

Thanks for catching that. It's now fixed.

Incidentally, I'm currently without a computer, so there may be delays in getting the schedule out.

One game is still wonky:
