this video got me curious if cryogenics, which is obviously something science hasn't advanced towards yet, is something that is even possible due to the physical effect that very low temperatures have on the human body; up to 60% of the body is water, which would of course be crystalized in the freezing process. Supposing that some rich, living person (putting aside whether they're dead to begin with) wished to be cryonically frozen
(the Walt Disney thing is a myth, by the way), all of that water would naturally expand and that, along with necrosis, would kill the body in short order.
Unless cryonics were to advance in such a way to prevent the expansion of water and permanently conserve a person's skin cells, the concept is impossible and the cryonics 'industry' is a scam based purely on science fiction rather than science.
Might it ever be a realistic possibility for people to freeze themselves in a way without destroying their bodies beyond all use, or is it pure fantasy because the laws of nature fundamentally prohibit living things from being frozen for an extended period of time?
