This was quite the overperformance by Tim Hutchinson. Especially with it being on the same ballot as Bill Clinton.

Was Winston Bryant just a horrible candidate or something?

Hutchinson was very well-liked in his House district and racked up DPRK-level margins in NW Arkansas.

Sometimes if you can knock it out of the park in one part of the state, it makes up for a meh showing elsewhere. (See also: Doug Jones winning the 2017 US Senate election in Alabama.)

Yeah, it was mentioned in the Wikipedia page for the race that Hutchinson performed particularly well in his district.

Its worth noting that Doug Jones winning only 1 congressional district in 2017 while winning statewide was the product of gerrymandering; under nonpartisan maps, he would have won 3, which while still a minority, shows that his win was not based on domination in just a single area.
