NM for natural beauty, but all three are pretty bad.

Despite being the home of What's Aleppo Gary, New Mexico has fewer lolberts than Nevada and fewer Sheriff Joe style racist lunatics than Arizona, so it wins by default.

New Mexico is my favorite in terms of natural beauty, past and present local cultures, and political leanings, but I like Arizona nearly as much for these things as well.

Nevada's okay, but I've never been a big fan of Vegas and I don't find its portion of the Great Basin Desert as interesting as NM or AZ's desert landscapes.

Tough call between Arizona and New Mexico. I've spent infinitely more time in Arizona, but New Mexico intrigues me as of late. Voted Arizona.

New Mexico, but I could easily be convinced about Arizona. Not Nevada though.

I'll be able to judge more accurately by next year, since my time in Nevada consists of Elko county, and it's been a very long time since I was in Arizona, but New Mexico does have a lot of natural beauty, and Santa Fe is a cool city, even if it's not a place I'd want to live.

New Mexico is the Mississippi of the West.

If anyone other than you had said this I'd assume they're badly insulting NM, but since it's you, I'm assuming you mean this as a compliment?

I mean, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but MS is one of the worst states in the country - maybe the worst - by just about any objective measure. Of course, NM isn't doing too well, either.

Arizona.

Nevada is an awful place to live in and as DT put it, New Mexico is the Mississippi of the West.

What Mississippi and New Mexico have in common is that they're both relatively rural, poor and Federally-dependent regional outposts that don't benefit from playing host to any big cities that could support a 21st-century knowledge economy.  There is the added wrinkle that Mississippi and New Mexico are, respectively, the most Black and most Latino state in the country.  The states are poor and unique for essentially the same reasons, just with each offering its own regionally-distinctive flair.

I here to say the obligatory, it's ironic that a Mississippian is sh**tting on his state

NM is a dump. I highly doubt most of the people voting in this poll have ever been there.

Arizona > New Mexico > Nevada.

Though I don't have a particular affinity for any of them. Way too hot!

I mean, I've been to the other two and they're dumps too.

I hate hot climates, but due to elevation, New Mexico's climate is mostly not that bad. Albuquerque's climate is way closer to Denver than it is to Phoenix or Houston.

Arizona is less of a dump and more of a suburban hellscape, with a couple decent national parks thrown in the mix. Nevada has a few sporadic gems as well but the entire Vegas area needs to be razed for the betterment of humanity.

Also, Arizona and New Mexico have amazing flags, while Nevada's flag is pretty sh**t.

Even though it's unique, the emblem being on the top left side of the flag instead of in the middle makes me irrationally angry whenever I see it.

Have never been to NM/AZ before, but I have been to Lake Tahoe twice, which was awesome, so NV I guess.

New Mexico is my favorite and it’s not even close.
Unfortunately the state is still struggling overall with poverty, but it still is easily the most beautiful of all states both in the rurals and in the cities/towns.

Now if we are talking about actually living there, I would pick AZ first.
