Idea: Force politicians to leave office when they run for president or are selected vice president

For sure there are benefits to do this, though I would actually prefer to shorten presidential campaigns in general. Candidates shouldn't announce before the fall or winter ahead of the election year, if not even later; inconunction with a reform of primaries. They shouldn't begin a 10 months before the GE. Way too early.

Better in my opinion would be 5 year terms and no midterms, ideally with the senate abolished or drastically reformed so that all legislative members are elected for the same term. If we aren't switching to a parliamentary system, which would be the best solution at all.
