Above all else, the goal of a VP choice is to "do no harm," so even in just that light, her selection clearly helped him, not to mention the facts that she clearly successfully appealed to both Black voters who help make the Democratic base up & swing voters in rapidly diversifying suburbs across the country, particularly in the Sun Belt, as well as Latinos, given that approval for the ticket significantly increased among both Black & Latino voters following Biden's selection of her as his VP.

She neither did harm nor good. Which is a plus since the Biden campaign was on cruise control since March and landed safely. She did her job

I voted that she was a net positive.  Although it's impossible to prove, it's easily believable that she made the difference in Georgia, given that African Americans make up (as of this year) a larger proportion of the population there than in any other state except Mississippi and Louisiana, and given the fact that Biden carried the state by less than a quarter of one percent.

No Harm no Foul....

Naturally Biden wouldn't have looked for Sanders or Warren for Veep.

Did her job, although kinda got some of the "crap cleanup" gigs early in the Admin w/o a chance to get early easy wins (Border Policy, etc...).

Kamala seems she's doing all right and anybody who hates on her is most likely a full blown racist Mo-Fo  (Joke aside---- Sista doing all right and hasn't yet have to case a split vote in the Senate).

I very strongly doubt that 0.1% of the voters in the '20 GE voted bcs of Kamala as the Veep.

Had Biden lost Georgia in November, we lose the senate because Perdue crosses 50.01% ugh

Proabably not 1%

But what about 0.001%? That is the margin in Georgia that saved the senate

None whatsoever. It's very rare that VP candidates actually make a difference in one's decision. Factors that helped and hurt Biden in 2020 were independent of Harris.

The VP almost never makes an impact and 2020 was no major exception.

Little to no effect, and that little might have been slightly positive at least among the Democratic base.

It's funny because given Biden's age one would have thought that she would have been more relevant in the general election. It's especially ironic that Trump thought Biden wouldn't have picked her due to thinking she would eclipse him too much. Not everybody thinks like you, Mr. Former Guy!

She was a net negative. People just seem to viscerally dislike her, not unlike the way they viscerally dislike Hillary Clinton. That's why I pray HARD that she's not our nominee in 2024.

Amazing how, in contrast to the alternative viewpoint, neither post contains any proof to back the claim that she was a net negative up.

Might have helped marginally with black voter turnout/margins, might have hurt marginally with Trump-skeptical R's hoping for a moderate.  Given the super narrow win in Georgia, I would say a net positive.

She helped raise an absolutely massive amount of money from the base, which was probably a net positive.

She didn't hurt, but it's debatable as to how much she helped.
