Historically speaking, his not attending his successor's inauguration should more properly be seen not as his being the 4th-ever sitting President to skip his successor's inauguration but as his being the 1st-ever sitting President to have not been invited.

McConnell is so full of it. He could have ended Trump's career and upheld democracy, but it would have made life hard for him and his party so he chose not to.

At some point inviting Trump to the Biden Inauguration might have been considered akin to either a plot or story from a William Shakespeare historical, or maybe something out of Game of Thrones.

Don't blame "The Crow" if the story is true, actually makes me respect him more....

Exactly. He also didn't care when Trump called for violence against political opponents, wanted to deport sitting members of congress back to "where they came from" or called literal nazis fine people, as long as he was getting his right-wing judges, tax cuts and deregulation. Or when Trump bribed a foreign government for dirt on political opponents, something they would have impeached Obama for in a second.

Yeah, if anything 5/1 alienated McConnell from Trump a lot more than 6/1.
