We start early to compensate for expected delays.

Plus its the "October Cycle"

Large portions of the 2016 Presidential election took place in 2015 and same with 2008 and 2007.

All these burdensome Covid precautions but no requirement that attendees at a mass gathering are vaccinated or even have a negative test?

Dude the OP is a copy paste job from like two years ago recycled with the location and date changed.

The Covid requirements are something I a-pulled last year just throwing down whatever popped in my head when typing it (before the vaccine came out).

I couldn't have known that, I'll see how you guys handle this going forward.

How it goes in my head when I start it: Perfectly on time and fully fleshed out convention that even does work on the platform and has a keynote address.

Smart money: OP and delegate list never get updated, we barely get the primary conducted because candidates won't declare in time and the leadership and city vote gets pushed into or after the election as a result

If there was every time for people to not procrastinate declarations for Senate and regional office, it would be this cycle. The necessities of conducting a primary with a contested race at the top means that delaying for the sake of "filling out the slate" is just not a practical consideration as such.

I urge candidates to make sure to declare requests for nominations both here and in the candidate declaration thread and to do so as soon as possible.

I will not open the official declaration period as of yet, but I will certainly count all pre-filed requests/declarations as I have in most recent cycles.

I will not endorse any candidates for office prior to the primary, and in most all circumstances have adhered to this even in uncontested nomination contests for multiple years now.

Edit: Well that lasted long, still start declaring anyway. Tongue

I am going to go ahead and start the 48 hour period for declarations for leadership and City Nominations. This will be followed by a 72 hour vote.

I realize some discussions are underway and my desire is not to rush those discussions, but at the same I want to at least get the official time requirements counting done and I will extend if determined to be necessary.

I will run for another term as Federalist Party Chair. I will make more extensive statements later tonight on my objections and priorities for this term.

If you are interested in an appointed position within the leadership team, please post your interest in this thread as well.

Positions can be created or modified to address specific tasks.

Areas of deficiency include:
GOTV team
Secretary - officially tasked with the Wiki
Election Tracker - Can be Secretary as well if desired. Math skills required and availability on election nights.
Recruitment
Centrist Outreach and Relations - Right on the tin
Discord Coordinator - On top of managing a potential revived Federalist discord, would also be charged with redirecting activity towards the AFE Board.

If you have an interest in any of these areas or in an area that needs attention but I overlooked, please don't hesitate to step forward.

when you’re better at turning out people for the uncontested leadership election than for the actual election

Federalists have typically had a fluctuating group of "missed elections", so while it is often the same percentage, it is very often different people. It just comes down to who responds and who doesn't at any given election.

Results:

Chair
NC Yankee Elected

Vice Chair
LouisvilleThunder Elected

Convention City
New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans appears to have 6/11 first prefs thus removing the necessity of fancy maths.

I am tentatively setting a final deadline for declarations for December elections for Nov 19th, to be followed by the primary Nov 20th - 23rd.

I am willing to push to the following weekend if absolutely necessary, but that produces a more condensed time frame than I would like.

I will of course count pre-filled declarations. Please make sure to declare in the Candidate Declaration Thread (glares at OSR), as well as in here.

Its now the 19th and I am the only declared candidate.

I cannot express just how urgent it is that people start declaring for office now. The December elections are earlier than that of other months and thus the need to start earlier even aside from my usual demands (often unheeded for such).

About a week behind my original plan but we had no declared candidates by that point other than myself.

I am starting the official 48 hours declaration period. Please declare in both here and the Candidate declaration thread.

I do hope that ASV/some other Fremont fed declares and doesn't do a write in so I'll request an endorsement.

November 23, 2021

I would like an endorsement for at-large Senate

IC4

I’d like an endorsement for Pacific Subregion Senate

Maybe if you explain why Benconstine, Vern and JoMCar shouldn't have been allowed to serve in the Senate.
