France has every right to complain. And the US has every right to do what's in its strategic interest. In this case, the brunt of the blame lies with Australia. Which should've realized it would soon be operating a fleet of nuclear submarines, and maintaining naval infrastructure compatible with US vessels. In other words, given the escalating Chinese threat, Australia never should've made a deal with France in the first place.
