Glen Murray wins Green Party leadership election

Former Winnipeg Mayor and Ontario MPP Glen Murray has won the Green Party of Canada leadership election with 52% of the vote going to him in the eighth round, where he defeated "ecosocialist" candidate Dimitri Lascaris. Following his victory, Glen Murray thanked his supporters and the members of the Green Party in his speech in Toronto. Following his victory in the leadership election, he was acclaimed as the Green candidate in the Toronto Centre by-election, and he represented the provincial constituency of Toronto Centre from 2010 to 2017.
