I don't think it's the Democrats who are delusional about DeSantis, since it's one thing to exaggerate how bad the situation is in Florida, and another thing to say DeSantis had the "BeSt CoViD rEsPoNsE iN tHe CoUnTrY!"
Saying 'DeSantis has the best covid response in the country' is incorrect imo, but none of that excuses naked lies and mindless conspiracymongering.
Do you care about the truth?

What conspiracies?

Literally upthread you have people saying DeSantis substanstively messed with FL covid data, and recommending posts saying just that.
Those sorts of sentiments are not reflective of reality. Frankly, they ought to be nuked from orbit.
There's more than enough to attack DeSantis' bad COVID response. Why make up naked lies when the truth is bad enough?

DeSantis' refusal to mandate vaccinations led to my 87 year old grandpa contracting the virus from a worker in the assisted living home he is in. He is fine now, thankfully. And you know why? Because he's f***ing vaccinated! But for that to happen at all-F*** Ron DeSuckass!

Any of you Republicans who dislike Trump and think you're so much more logical than his cultists are falling in the same trap they did if you support him. He is pure scum, lower than scum even. And he knows it because that's what makes Republicans' d***s hard. So the blame isn't only him, in fairness. he is just responding to a truly deranged segment of our population which is concentrated far too much in the "Sunshine" State that elected him, and will again, comfortably, in 2022.

Over the past 14 days, Florida has had the biggest percentage drop in cases (-44%) and tied with Louisiana for the biggest drop in hospitalizations (-35%).

We know it can take anywhere from 3-5 weeks after cases peak before peaks in hospitalizations and death occur. We're within that window right now. Hospitalization rates already have, and death rates will follow shortly.

FL will continue to have higher death rates than many other states due to the median age of the state and its relatively low vaccination rate. Of the 5 oldest states in the country, only 2 lack notably high rates of vaccination (FL & WV). Guess which 2 states find themselves in the top 3 for deaths per 100,000 right now? FL & WV.

It cannot be just Florida.

The USA as a whole is peaking with Active Cases at 10M.

Once you have brainwashed a population to the point where they are literally like cattle where you are the only thing that gives them a reason to exist. What will you do next?

Maybe nothing. Some kinds of people don’t want democracy and the democratic thing to do is respect it but does the story end there? Sometimes it’s just the business of the ruler and his seemingly willing subjects but sometimes it’s everyone’s business.

Of course I care about the truth, and if it has been proven that the current statistics are legit, then people should not be inventing numbers. The truth is that the numbers do not paint a pretty picture for DeSantis, and it frustrates me that many will downplay DeSantis's role in the high number of cases, especially when they were pointing to statistics just months ago as "evidence" that DeSantis had done a "great job."

It's breathtaking to see states like MA and RI soon to be dropping out of the top 10 in terms of deaths per capita while FL/AR/AL/TX/MS shoot up the rankings.  Just another concrete example of failed GOP "leadership."

Florida's response: making quarantine "optional".

Florida Students Are No Longer Required To Quarantine After Being Exposed To COVID

Either modern Republicanism dies, or we all do. It's becoming that simple.

RDS isn't a lock to win in 2022. Crist is a really bad candidate though, so Dems need a better nominee.

Florida's Delta surge appears to be waning and their COVID cases have hit their lowest point right now since July.

This is pretty similar to the Delta surge in other nations such as India. So this is another nail in the coffin for the left wing narratives.

Lmao an advanced nation like the US should be looking for better role models than India.

Welp I am bumping this up because it looks like Florida is imminently about to pass New York in covid deaths.  It's also going to leap frog Arkansas, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Arizona in deaths per capita within like a week or two.  And DeSantis seriously thinks he's going to be President.

Within a month NY wont even be in the top 10 in covid deaths per capita.  FL should be in the top 3 or 4.  Despicable.

He could still be president but that would be one of many signs that this country is on the merge of breaking up or maybe unraveling in a less spectacular fashion.

Not necessarily defending DeSantis here, but the fact is that vaccines have been easily available for months now. If people die because they're stupid enough to think that the vaccine is full of Bill Gates's tracking chips or whatever, it's almost entirely on them at this point.

And him trying to pick a fight with the federal government over who knows better when it comes to containing diseases, him or scientists.

No other governor is levying fines for requiring workers to be vaccinated, so some of the blood is unquestionably on his hands.

levying fines is pussy sh**t. capital punishment for employers who require masks or vaccination plus managers who enforce it is the way to go.
