Do you mean like church music or just any song written by a Catholic?
I was thinking of the former but honestly I can't think of any good music written by Catholics either.
Are you serious right now?
Who are some Catholics who make pop-punk, post-hardcore, emo, melodic hardcore, etc.? I can't think of any.

The violin solo in the Benedictus of the Missa Solemnis alone suffices to answer this thread.

Could have named a thousand other pieces but Mozart's Laudate Dominum was the first to come to mind. The most serene and joyful expression of man's thankfulness to the universe for his existence.

Did Fall Out Boy write the Verdi Requiem?

That's what I thought.

No, but they wrote this which absolutely blows that out of the f[inks]ing water.

Definitely the Catholics.  Even if Catholic liturgical music itself is not "better", its influence in pre-modern Europe means it is responsible for other good music.

Easily the Catholics.

One of the best pieces of music ever written with the most famous story of any song in human history.

It's disheartening but not surprising that BRTD hasn't accepted Messiaen into his life.

Bruce Springsteen is Catholic. He may not by his own admission be the best practitioner, but his music is very much informed by Catholicism.

No, nothing blows Dies Irae out of the water. Some great songs are comparably good, but nothing beats it in a landslide.

Thanks for giving me probably the first poll in over a decade where I select the 'Catholicism' option.

There was barely any good music made until about the late 70s though so citing music before that as better than the first Fall Out Boy albums is weird.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen on this entire website.

I mean there was some exceptions like Bob Dylan and  this but it wasn't until about then that consistently good music started being made.

You can say that earlier Rock, Jazz, Classical and Folk music (as well as genres from other parts of the world) aren't your cup of tea, but to write them off as bad is incredibly silly, especially given the level of artistry and complexity of many works that came before the 1970s.

Catholicism simply by virtue of the fact that Catholic music is a pretty wide term even if it's often pretty bad, while Fall Out Boy is the same totally unlistenable nonsense over and over again.

You remind me of that film critic who said any film made before the 1970s including all black and white films were unwatchable.
