No. In fact I've never even had a connecting flight before. Although that'll change next week.

But two or more....nope.

Among others: Cape Town/Durban - Johannesburg - Amsterdam/Paris - Geneva (multiple trips) as well as Antananarivo - Nairobi - Amsterdam - Geneva (7 hours in Nairobi that turned into 11 thanks to delays, miserable experience)

Happen quite a bit if you are trying to go from a non-hub to a non-hub in a different continent. Especially if you are doing it last minute or trying to minimize the costs.

I once went from Chicago-O’Hare to Salt Lake City to somewhere in MT (probably Billings?) to Helena, MT.

Duh (actually travels, actually traveled before 2015ish)

e.g. CLD-SFO-EWR-PWM
e.g. KUL-SIN-SFO-CLE
e.g. ORD-JFK-HEL-SVX
e.g. CUZ-LIM-EWR-YUL

... and many others.

Although it is understandable that BRTD, living in the middle of the country at a Northwest hub, and not traveling outside the country, hasn't needed to connect.

Yes, when I flew back from my trip to Southeast Asia (Bangkok overland to Luang Prabang through Cambodia, the highlight of the trip being Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom) three years ago:

Luang Prabang (Laos) to Bangkok

Bangkok to Mumbai

Mumbai to Doha (Qatar)

Doha to Washington Dulles

Going from Albany NY to Samoa requires more then one connection. It is more like a trial by endurance.

I've only flown to three locations as an adult: Atlanta, Dallas-Ft. Worth and Chicago. So it's obvious I've never needed to connect with those.

No. I've never had even one. I hate flying and only do so under the rarest of circumstances.

Sacramento -> Atlanta -> Paris (CdG)

Nice, France -> JFK -> Salt Lake City -> Sacramento

Side note, the second one was the day that Michael Jackson died.

Extra credit points to those who can guess the airline

Nope. One connecting flight I have done plenty of times (almost always LPA-MAD/BCN-final destination; though I once had a connecting flight at Tenerife North Airport) but never more than one.

Nope, both flights I've ever flown (DSM-SFB and PIE-DSM) were direct flights. However, I might take some flights with connections next summer as I don't think there are that many direct routes from Minneapolis to London and Munich to Minneapolis.

The very first flight I took (which occurred when I immigrated from China to the US) was PEK-NRT-DTW-SYR.

I'd guess Delta, since they code-share with Air France and have a hub in SLC (and ATL, of course).

I've flown many with two connections and one with three that I recall:

Pensacola-Atlanta-Miami-San Juan-St. Martin

And yes, they lost my luggage.

Yes.  Pretty common if you're going to Europe or the islands I like in the Caribbean.

I think my personal record for number of layovers may hold for the rest of my life:

Seattle->Los Angeles (overnight)->Tokyo->Singapore->Bangkok (overnight)->Hanoi

Return:

Hanoi->Bangkok->Singapore (overnight)->Tokyo->Los Angeles->Seattle

I was going there on a volunteer trip where we all had to meet in LA before we travelled across the Pacific and then had to meet up with another group in Bangkok before heading to Hanoi, which was a big part of why we took such a long route. But then there were other issues like that other group getting delayed and us having to unexpectedly spend the night in Bangkok. There was also another group that was coming from New York who flew through Frankfurt to get to Singapore, so there were people in my group who had the same number of layovers but had to spend more time in the air and covered a longer distance. All in all, it wasn't even the worst or longest-feeling flight I ever had (that was definitely Vancouver->Toronto->Warsaw->Bucharest). And I got to do overnight stays in two countries I didn't even know I was visiting until I boarded the flight to get there.

Even within the U.S., I once had Buffalo---->Detroit---->Minneapolis--->Sioux Falls

Your story brings back a memory from my defense contracting days.  One of my colleagues was doing some technical work on a ship in the Indian Ocean.  There was a sudden medical crisis in his family and he had to get home quickly, taking whatever flights were available during a busy travel season.  He wound up with an insane route something like Singapore-Hong Kong-Manila-Tokyo-Honolulu-San Francisco-Atlanta-Orlando that took close to 48 hours.
