REPUBLICANS MOVE SPECIAL ELECTION DATES!

Republican legislators have moved the special election dates for AZ-08, TX-27, and OH-12 to coincide with the midterms. It is expected that the real reason is to avoid the Democratic rage turnout that has swung a lot of other races to them such as KS-04.

A USAF Sikorsky Blackhawk carrying ten people was shot down down by Taliban fighters several miles outside of Kabul. Democrats have already been quick to blame President Trump's arbitrary deadline for withdrawal for the deaths.

DEMOCRATS: TRUMP GOVERNMENT INEXPERIENCE RESPONSIBLE FOR DEATHS!

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has said the reason Trump's Afghanistan pullout is turning into a nightmare is because he hasn't nominated any experienced people to his national security team. Pelosi singled out Pentagon head Elise Stefanik, who has a lack of experience.

March 13, 2018

AFGHANISTAN WITHDRAWAL BEHIND SCHEDULE!

The US Afghanistan withdrawal is reportedly running far behind schedule. Only 2,000 non-military personnel have been evacuated, with 1,000 troops and around 15,000 American civilians remain as the Taliban has captured most of the country. President Trump has said everyone will be out by April 31.

BREAKING: CHAOS IN THE WHITE HOUSE!

CNN has received news that the White House is currently in chaos. A leaked report shows the President Trump is mad at Defense Secretary Stefanik for 'screwing up the withdrawal' but is keeping her on as firing her would make the situation worse. One person he is thinking about firing is special consul Robert Mueller, who has been investigating him for the majority of his presidency.

April 6, 2018

EVACUATION FLIGHTS DELAYED DUE TO OVERCROWDING!

Flights evacuating U.S. citizens and allies from Kabul were delayed for several hours today as the number of people crowding the airport stopped planes from taking off. Flights have now resumed with 6,000 out of roughly 15,000 non-military American citizens evacuated. The Taliban has been letting Americans from outside Kabul get in and to the airport, and have held off on entering Kabul proper. It is expected they will continue to do so until the April 30 withdrawal deadline.

April 11, 2018

NANCY PELOSI WILL STEP DOWN AS LEADER!

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has announced that she will be stepping down before the next Congress, and that a new leader will be selected before the midterms. LAST-MINUTE EVACUATION BLITZ!

A last-minute ramping up of flights out of Kabul airport was ordered by the Pentagon earlier this morning. Only 12,000 out of the 15,000 Americans needing evacuation from Afghanistan have been flown out, with the April 30 deadline fast approaching. Taliban forces have already retaken most of the city, although they have left the airport alone.

April 30, 2018

TROOPS CAPTURED IN LAST-MINUTE EVACUATION!

Approximately ten marines and five soldiers were captured by the Taliban after firing at them when they tried to enter the airport, where two final Boeing 737-700 aircraft were taking off. It took an emergency US helicopter operation to rescue them. This does not include the seventeen members of the armed forced who were killed since late last night. President Trump's approval rating has slid to 31%, per recent polling.

The midterms will be a bloodbath thanks to Obamacare repeal and earlier Afghan withdrawal similar to IRL. Trump will almost be certainly impeached in early 2019.

TWO AMERICAS- HEALTH CARE IN RED STATES AND BLUE STATES

Despite the much-publicized Obamacare repeal, most blue states won't feel any hurt. States which have already opted to expand Medicaid were able to continue receiving federal subsidies just like before. Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine (over gubernatorial veto), New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Minnesota, California, Hawaii, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington and of course Massachusetts have implemented health care reforms similar to the MA one in 2006. The uninsured rate in those states has actually gone down by an average of 15% over the last year while costs have plateaued due to provision in these states allowing the state governments to negotiate with manufacturers for prescriptions.

The DOJ sued these states for taking advantage of the bill, which was conveniently worded to be non specific on these issues. The loophole was closed although the states got to keep their systems. The Supreme Court ruled 5-4, which has prompted anger among conservatives and demands that Congress and the White House pack the courts.

In the red states, things are going less well. Arkansas, Indiana, and West Virginia have already gotten rid of their medicaid expansions, with Governor Bevin about to sign similar legislation in Kentucky, which will likely make his 28% approval rating fall further. Costs are rising, and over 10,000,000 will lose insurance before the year is out.

BARACK OBAMA TO CAMPAIGN FOR MIDTERM CANDIDATES!

Fmr. President Barack Obama, who has seen the number of those with positive opinions of him rise to nearly 70%, will be campaigning for Democrats in the midterms. He will be focusing his appearances on cities for statewide races and suburbs for house races, as his presence in rural areas would likely still be a net negative to the candidate.

DEMOCRATS SLAM TRUMP BUDGET AS 'GIVEAWAY TO THE RICH'

Democrats in Congress have proposed assailed the Trump budget as a giveaway to the rich. The legislation is expected to pass the House easily but will run in to multiple hurdles in the Senate where Democrats need only one Republican to vote in favor. Democrats mentioned the Social Security cuts, despite Republican assurances they would be top-heavy in cuts.

REPUBLICANS IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH SUSAN COLLINS AND LISA MURKOWSKI!

Republican leadership has been negotiating with Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins, as they can't afford any defections on the bill. Insiders say the final budget will resemble something like this, with minimal changes in discretionary funding and more revenue via a less steep cut to the payroll tax but more to Social Security and Medicaid.

June 5, 2018

REPUBLICANS INVOKE BUDGET RECONCILIATION, PASS BUDGET 51-50!

Republicans were narrowly able to pass a modified budget with a vastly reduced amount of wall funding and more for Social Security was passed by a 51-50 vote where VP Pence broke the tie. Susan Collins voted against and Joe Donnelly voted in favor.

PRESIDENT TRUMP VETOES BUDGET, SAYS IT MUST HAVE WALL FUNDING!

SENATE TO CONSIDER NON-MODIFIED TRUMP BUDGET!

The U.S. Senate will consider a non-modified Trump budget in the near future. It is expected to face a Democratic filibuster into the ground unless Republicans can get the Senate Parliamentarian to give them another reconciliation chance. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who was allowed to stay in his position despite a larger number of Democrats through July 31, hopes to get it passed by then.

POLLING SHOWS TRUMP BUDGET DEEPLY UNPOPULAR!

The Trump budget, which would enact historic cuts in many departments, is deeply unpopular with the American people, with only 27% approving and 60% disapproving. This is the second piece of the President's economic agenda which is deeply unpopular, following his Obamacare repeal which up to 66% of the nation is against. The President's approval rating has improved somewhat from his post-Afghanistan low, holding steady at 31% approval 65% disapproval.

July 7, 2018

HOUSE PASSES UN-CHANGED TRUMP BUDGET!

The House has passed the Trump budget in its original form by a vote of 219-216. The reduced margin over the previous time may have to do with the unpopularity of the legislation among most Americans.

SENATE CANDIDATE DAVID BARIA ASSASSINATED, REPLACED WITH DAVID BLOUNT!

State Rep. and US Senate candidate David Baria was assassinated today by a far-right radical. Baria, who was in a statistical tie if polling is to be believed, will be replaced on the ballot by David Blount. The various factors in this race bringing it in different directions means that we will not have a clear picture until the votes come in.

BARIA ASSASSIN WAS A FORMER VOLUNTEER FOR SEN. BARRASSO!

PRESIDENT TRUMP CANCELS TOUR APPEARENCES!

President Donald Trump has announced that he will be cancelling half his campaign stops for Republican candidates. It is theorized that this is due to his 29% approval rating. Republicans are desperately trying everything in the face of massive Democratic gains (including likely flips in TN, AZ and TX and possible ones in MS and WY), which is made worse by the fact that Democrats and associated groups have spent over $11 Billion on campaigning with over $3 Billion in reserves available for the final stretch. Republicans have only spent $2 Billion and only have a few hundred million in reserves.

November 6, 2018

EXIT POLLS:
Democrats: 56%
Republicans: 39%
