Was Chafin considered a major candidate in 1912?

Was he considered one, along with the main 4 (Wilson, Roosevelt, Taft and Debs)?  I believe he did well in some states.

I would say no. I would also argue that Debs was not a major candidate, either. There is a difference between "major" and "main" candidate IMO. In the sense that Debs and Chafin were national candidates and both polled a significant popular vote percentage they were "main" but since neither had any realistic chance of winning they were not "major".

I wouldn't consider Eugene Chafin a major candidate, although he did quite well.
