Well may the peoples of other regions envy Frémont, as we stand at the end of history regarding the perfection of our commonwealth. The petty pace of time is done, the carrion cries its last note, and our people rest easy, unrent by politics or faction, one united nation content in its greatness.

Citizens and members may use this thread to introduce legislation, motions, and resolutions for the consideration of the house. I invite our new members to take the oath of office at their earliest convenience that we may proceed with the election of a speaker. In the meantime, as president of parliament, I will adjudicate in our proceedings.

Frémont Health Act

1. All hospitals, clinics, hospice facilities, and nursing homes within the boundaries and under the legal jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Frémont shall become property of the Commonwealth of Frémont effective January 1, 2022.
    1a. The owners of said properties shall be fairly compensated under all relevant law concerning the purchase of said properties.
2. All persons currently employed in the facilities mentioned in Section 1 shall become employees of the Commonwealth of Frémont effective January 1, 2022.
    2a. Employees covered by this Act shall elect a works council tasked with the day-to-day operations of the firm in question.
3. $1,000,000,000,000 will be allocated toward the construction of new hospitals, clinics, hospice facilities, and nursing homes over a period of five years, effective January 1, 2022.
4. Upon the passage of this legislation, no privately owned hospital, clinic, hospice facility, or nursing home may be built or opened in the Commonwealth of Frémont or in any area subject to its jurisdiction.
5. Effective January 1, 2022, private hospital companies, insurance agencies, hospice care companies, and nursing home companies shall be placed under public ownership.
    5a. The owners of said properties shall be fairly compensated for any losses incurred as a result of said purchase of facilities.
6. All medical procedures shall be paid for by the Commonwealth of Frémont.
7. FremontCare shall be discontinued on January 1, 2022.

Amendment to the Fremont Constitution

At end of Article 5, add

Section 12. If there is only one on-ballot candidate for Fremont First Minister, Regional Senator, Mountain West Senator, and/or Pacific Senator in any election cycle, that candidate shall be automatically elected and no election shall be required for that office that cycle.

Section 13. Elections for members of Parliament aside from the FM shall be cancelled for a given cycle, with all on-ballot candidates automatically elected, if the number of on-ballot candidates equals the number of seats available.

AN ACT
prohibiting the teaching of the Philist-Wulfricist Theory in all the universities, and all other public schools of Frémont, which are supported in whole or in part by the public school funds of the commonwealth, and to provide penalties for the violations thereof

Section 1 (Title)
i. The title of this act shall be, the "Butler Act."

Section 2 (Prohibition against Philism-Wulfricism)
i. It shall be unlawful for any teacher in any of the universities, normals and all other public schools of Frémont which are supported in whole or in part by the public school funds of the commonwealth, to teach any theory that denies the self-evident truth that all men are created equal as taught in the Declaration of American Independence, and to teach instead that there is a descending hierarchy of men arranged according wealth, acceptance of certain religious doctrines, or any such thing as "socialism by admission" or "association."
ii. Any teacher found guilty of the violation of this act, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be fined not less than one hundred ($100.00) dollars nor more than five hundred ($500.00) dollars for each offense.

Section 3 (Implementation)
i. This act take effect from and after its passage, the public welfare requiring it.

AN ACT
to establish a standing committee of the house to investigate the influence of Philism-Wulfricism within our society

Section 1 (Title)
i. The title of this act shall be, the "Committee on Un-Frémontian Activities Act."

Section 2 (Powers and Duties of the Committee)
i. A Committee on Un-Frémontian Activities is authorized to make from time to time investigations of
(a) the extent, character, and objects of un-Frémontian propaganda activities in the Commonwealth of Frémont;
(b) the diffusion within the Commonwealth of Frémont of subversive and un-Frémontian propagandas that is instigated from Eastern regions or of a domestic origin and attacks the principle of the form of government as guaranteed by our constitution; and
(c) all other questions in relation thereto that would aid parliament in any necessary remedial legislation.
ii. The Committee on Un-Frémontian Activities shall report to the house (or to the first minister if the house is not in session) the results of any such investigation, together with such recommendations as it deems advisable.
iii. For the purpose of any such investigation, the Committee on Un-Frémontian Activities, or any subcommittee thereof, is authorized to sit and act at such times and places within the Commonwealth of Frémont, whether or not the house is sitting, has recessed, or has adjourned, to hold such hearings, to require the attendance of such witnesses and the production of such books, papers, and documents, and to take such testimony, as it deems necessary. Subpoenas may be issued under the signature of the chair of the committee or any subcommittee, or by any member designated by any such chair, and may be served by any person designated by any such chair or member.

Section 3 (Membership)
i. The first minister shall be the permanent chair of the committee, and shall appoint no more than six (6) citizens of high moral character as additional members of the committee.
