Someone told me that our universe is a simulation and that we are a bunch of 1's and 0's... do you agree

Not even the philosopher who came up with the simulation argument believes we are in one. In fact the argument itself is that the simulation is only one of 3 possibilities for humanity. And to make it  relies on certain unknowable assumptions about advanced technology and the nature of future civilisations.

If a simulation is good enough to be indistinguishable from reality, it functionally is reality as far as we're concerned. So the question is meaningless.

https://www.simulation-argument.com/faq.html

Quote
The argument shows that at least one of the following propositions is true: (1) the human species is very likely to go extinct before reaching a “posthuman” stage; (2) any posthuman civilization is extremely unlikely to run a significant number of simulations of their evolutionary history (or variations thereof); (3) we are almost certainly living in a computer simulation. It follows that the belief that there is a significant chance that we will one day become posthumans who run ancestor-simulations is false, unless we are currently living in a simulation. A number of other consequences of this result are also discussed.

Personally, and granting that the simulation argument is sound, I think (1) is the most likely.

Bugs Bunny knows he’s a cartoon character though and once became an animator.

Surprised by the amount of "No" answers here.

Of all the primate-brain induced theories of the origins of existence, the simulation theory--I suspect--is the one theory that glazes closest to the truth.

I entirely agree, we could live in a simulation, but if that simulation is nothing different from reality, the question doesn’t matter.
We could live in advanced simulation made by aliens billions of years in the future, or this could just be our universe.

I don't actively believe this, but it's not ridiculous at all.  The Abrahamic religions kind of hint at this.
