If you're listening Pope Michael and the Palmarian incumbent, why not other schismatic claimants like Linus II or the Apostles of Infinite Love guy?

Pope Frank, but this Pope Michael guy is pretty funny:

Quote
He stated in 2009 that he had approximately 30 "solid followers".

"There are dozens of us! Dozens!"

Not that I'd have voted for him, but you didn't include Theodorus II, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria, not to be confused with Tawadros II, the Coptic Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria. Or for that matter, Ibrahim, the Coptic Catholic Patriarch of Alexandria.

All these Patriarchs of Alexandria got me to wondering why there never was established an Orthodox Patriarch of Rome after the Great Schism.

It might surprise you to hear that I have a higher opinion of Benedict than most Popes, considering he was the textbook example of the sort of fire-breathing archconserbative Catholic I can't stand before he was Pope. But it's true because he did the best thing he ever did in his career and resigned.

I know that sounds like a backhanded insult instead of a compliment but actually I'm kind of serious. By resigning he set a precedent that Popes can do so instead of the previous de facto life appointment, which is unhealthy and can result in someone senile holding the position with no real 25th Amendment procedure. Plus he actually got to enjoy a retirement, he's been an ex-Pope for 8 years now, almost as long as the 9 he was Pope, and since basically every other job except Pope gets this, it's not unreasonable.

On top of that he was actually the best Pope in my lifetime in regards for handling sexual abuse. John Paul II was horrendous at this and it's been one of Francis' weakest points even if the blame is more on his appointees than himself. Benedict at least took it seriously and had a bit of "the buck stops here" attitude in regards to it.

I know little about the non-Catholic ones though so I didn't vote.
