https://news.yahoo.com/regrets-trump-beat-biden-today-141100643.html

Quote
A slew of new polls have come out this week showing the shrinking support for and approval of President Joe Biden, his average now below 50%.

But today, Rasmussen Reports is issuing the capper, telling Secrets that in an election do-over, Biden would lose to former President Donald Trump.

By a six-point margin, 43%-37%, likely voters would pick Trump over Biden “if the next presidential election were held today.”

The details of the survey, which samples more Democrats than Republicans, showed that Trump would win more women and blacks than he did in 2020 when he lost to Biden, 46.8%-51.3%.

A sizable 14% would choose “some other candidate,” though none were named.

The survey comes at a key point in Biden’s presidency. He is now under fire for bungling America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, increasing inflation, and spiraling crime.

Several other surveys out this week have shown his approval rating underwater, a place Trump floated for much of his presidency.

It’s Rasmussen with a bunch of undecideds in a hypothetical, so take it for what it’s worth but… yeah. Needless to say the reaction to this Afghanistan debacle has not been great.

Not altogether surprising with Trump off Twitter and mostly out of the spotlight. I imagine after infrastructure (assuming it all goes through) that will revert back.

If Rasmussen's poll from October 14th showing Biden leading Trump by 5 points had been their last of the season, they'd be hailed for getting the result spot-on.  Instead, they put out three more, including one that had Trump +1, proving that they were just playing a game of blindfold darts as usual.

Rasmussen is useless, but this Afghanistan thing has been a huge embarrassment. I don't understand why red avatars think that this debacle would be good for him. Fortunately, no one will remember two weeks from now, let alone three years from now, but this is not good for Biden.

There was no easy or clean way to leave.. Unless you believe we should keep a presence in Afghanistan, he made the right decision and it will help him get reelected. Americans are very tired of forever wars. Short term this is messy, long term it's a big help.

I doubt it, but yeah, not surprised in this because Biden rode the slogan shots in arms and 14oo checks and it's over, and then gave Afghanistan back to the Taliban, we aren't back and better

Then, the only people that get more stimulus checks are the ones with child tax credit, plse

I have the new tendency to reject almost every poll, especially when they're overly rosy for the Democrats. But I reject this just the same. Rasmussen did not get vindicated by the 2020 polling miss.

You answered your own question. The country will move on soon enough and Biden can recover if/when the infrastructure bill gets passed. He was lucky for this to have happened in a year without national elections. The 2022 and 2024 elections will not be about foreign policy, even if the Republicans sink their teeth into this, as I'm sure they will.

Sure, Afghanistan will still probably make headlines every now and then over Biden's term, but the immediate shock is well behind this country, and without that Americans will go back to not giving a f*** about foreign policy.

Buyers remorse, as Nate Silver still says 394 map until something dramatically changes

No one wants Tru.p or Pence back, but cases were starting to go down when Biden came into office and everyone wants Covid to go away

It's not 268 map as users overly predict Rs chances in WI that's an SN map of 2020

Trump will win in 2024 but 2026 is going to be a bloodbath for Republicans up and down the ballot, and 2028 is going to usher in a new era.  Right now Democrats just don't have the votes and by 2028 both Sinema and Manchin might be gone.

America is really going to be tested so badly by a Trump second term - the first was unbearable - but voters forget so quickly, they are fickle, and COVID may just be starting to disappear by 2024 and Biden will be dumped.

He was never really a strong leader.  Experience, yes, but that's not really what people want.

If people don't believe Trump can take back the White House, they just don't understand the reality.  This is the Gilded Age and our elections share something in common with the old Gilded Age - extremely close elections and bitter partisan division.

We're waiting for our Theodore Roosevelt.

Calm down. This poll is a bunch of malarkey. There is no way that the negative attention towards the Afghanistan withdrawal suddenly recuperated Trump's image in the eyes of most of the country. Trump may have had the benefit of not making many waves on this contentious conflict when it was under his watch, but he is still the guy who mishandled the pandemic and had his own group of terrorists descend upon a capitol, among so much more.

Rassy is obviously push polling Biden numbers so that Trump can run again he is pushing Biden numbers to where Trump numbers are, no Biden is at 49 and Trump was at 45

Same as it was in 2020 Election

Rassy does Landline polling not online polls which has built in Houd effect

Rasmussen is as bad as CNN and Quinnipiac on the other side. Toss it.

It's actually not, if you guys bothered to look at the track record, but this is a useless poll.

Any national poll with neither candidate polling above 43% in a head-to-head race is instant garbage.

Not surprised.  It's like Cleveland vs. Harrison in the rematch.  Gilded Age Hell.

Trump's second term will be an even bigger sh**tshow than the first but 2026 could present a golden opportunity for Democrats to blow up the Republican trifecta.

The question will be whether blacks will be voting in adequate numbers. It's hard to determine how effective the suppression will be. If it is suppression of the "cadaver vote", then Michigan already does that well. If it suppresses voting in multiple places, then such is fine.

The Voting Rights Act still applies against discriminatory practices in voting, and there is the possibility of enhancing it.

Why aren't Rasmussen polls banned from here the way they are at some of the poll aggregators?
