Option 3. I don't think the "muh freedom" argument really comes into play here when other people's freedoms are at stake, and a vaccine mandate would ultimately reduce the need for mask mandates, social distancing, anti-business lockdowns, etc. And Mississippi's hospital system is on the verge of collapse, so overall I think the benefits outweigh the cost from both a civil or moderate libertarian perspective as well as a medical perspective.

Nah, government shouldn't be telling businesses who can't be served. Maybe have some restrictions that vaccinated people are exempt from if hospitals are being overwhelmed, but other than that, I don't see the need for restrictions.

No.  I think it's counterproductive.  A lot of the people who could be persuaded to choose to get a vaccine would be totally turned off by any heavy-handed mandate from the government.  These mandates don't do a damn thing and only antagonize the opposition, adding fuel to the anti-science, anti-government movement.

Yes.  And until Republicans turned this into their latest culture war issue this was already done in places with little fanfare or controversy.

Millions of people have died. Therefore, option one.

as in "everyone (without a waiver from a real doctor) must get the vaccine"?  no

as in "entities (govt or private) requiring everyone (without a waiver from a real doctor) who deals with them in any way to get the vaccine"? yes

Before the FDA said it was "safe" a month ago, both answers were "no".  But now that the FDA has (finally) declared one of them safe, entities should be allowed to require it to do business with them if they want.  (of course the govt screwed up the documentation part of it, so enforcing it 100% is impossible)

^ here we see an example of libertarianism opposing individual freedom over enabling institutional powertripping by favoring businesses to require vaccination

I usually don't support that level of government dictating private lives, but not getting the vaccine is starting to become the equivalent of yelling fire in a crowded theater.

Yes,

We should, at a bare minimum, have vaccine mandates for air travel and hospitals. Just high risk areas for infection to start with.

Large mining companies in Western Australia are really keen to mandate that their employees are vaccinated.

Everyone is waiting for the process to start from Government and big business.

Not sure how an universal vaccine mandate is being enforced? Is the police going from door to door or putting people under arrest?

I'm for sure supporting vaccine mandates for certain professions, such as nurses, teachers and employees or nursing homes etc. These are highly sensitive professions where vulnerable groups might be exposed to the virus.

I encourage everyone to get vaccinated but the vaccine and the mask should really be a personal choice. If there are mandates (e.g. for vaccination/testing, mask) I follow them, though.

Very much so. It save lives. If we get enough people vaccinated, we won’t have to wear masks  or lock-down anymore. Vaccination is the only way out of this pandemic, and you are stupid if you continue to refuse a safe vaccine with no side effects.

imagine being dumb enough to trust the politicians who lie and think they'll actually allow things to "go back to normal" if enough people comply
