An initial supporter of the National Assembly(?) and the Tennis Court Oath. He has a four year lease on life as, while a devout supporter of the Revolution, the Republic, and Rationalization, his visible--if not vocal--discomfort with some of the revolution's excesses eventually lands him a seat in front of the Committee of Public Safety.

(Forgive me, I haven't had a Revolutions refresher in several months)

Catholic revolutionary guy who liked the fall of communism

Also I have a feeling you were around for that time, maybe even that place

Is that correct?

Catholics would have only had a notable presence in the Baltics and maybe Ukraine, but interesting take. And as for the second statement, that is un/fortunately incorrect.

Ancestrally unionist Republican from Northern Alabama with a populist bent, pro-Civil Rights but an enthusiastic Goldwater supporter excited by the possibility of Alabama finally having a two party system.

Probably a rather miserable Labour supporter who has no idea how much more misery he's in for over the course of the next five years. Cautiously optimistic about Wilson but secretly dreading the possibility that he'll go hard-left. The Winter of Discontent will eventually turn him into a one-time Conservative voter, though he'll soon repent that momentary lapse of faith.

Farmer in Shanxi who flees into the mountains after the PLA tries to confiscate his land, resists the Japanese occupation while clashing with the PLA. Could make a movie about this.

Someone who is concerned about threats to the existing social order, such as concerns about the status of the Catholic Church given increased executive power in practice.

Would've been a big supporter of Wallace's Foreign Policy; but his staunch segregationist stance would be a step too far. Backs Nixon with the hope of a draw-down in Vietnam and a return to law and order. Would've swayed between Nixon and George Romney in the Republican primary, despite not being given a say at that time.
