While the last GOP candidate to carry a county was George H.W. Bush in 1988, when do you think a Republican candidate will carry a county in Massachusetts?

It's not too hard to imagine Plymouth and/or Bristol flipping if the GOP manages to get a decent pop. vote victory.

Pretty much this. A strong showing with Hispanics and rural/exurban whites would put Hampden and Worcester in striking range for the GOP as well, but it's a real stretch at least for the time being. Considering Diehl won Plymouth in 2018, it's probably the most likely for a (post-Trump) Republican to win.
