Someone in Elliott County, KY is a good possibility.  Also perhaps someone in a handful of other eastern KY counties, or maybe Logan county, WV...

Though tbf, such a person could exist anywhere, even in Manhattan or San Francisco.

Exactly. A former diehard supporter of the working man's party who felt it was becoming too liberal on social issues and too elitist, and embraced the populist Donald Trump, in both 2016 and 2020. There are some McGovern/Mondale/Trump counties - see maps of Kentucky by county in 1972, 1984 and then 2016. (Here's an interesting fact - not a single county in KY or WV that voted for McGovern voted for Clinton or Biden, because of the reasons I described above.)

Such a voter would have been born in 1954 or earlier, and is probably white, Christian, and straight, and (given Mondale's disastrous performance among white men in 1984) perhaps more likely to be female than male.

There are probably more McGovern - Mondale - Trump voters than meets the eye. Per Gallup, voters born after 1942 split their votes almost evenly between Nixon and McGovern in 1972.

Such a voter is probably female, working class, tough, tattooed, swears like a sailor, and is happily married to her second or third husband. Many such voters can be found in places like Youngstown, OH-PA and Bay City, MI, as well as the aforementioned places. Bay City may, in fact, be a McGovern - Trump city: Nixon carried Bay County by just 3, while Trump in 2016 carried it by 12.6 and in 2020 carried it by about 10. Alas, Mondale lost Bay County by 7, so Bay City probably narrowly voted for Reagan.

Assuming this person didn't move politically to the right, it could describe an economic progressive protectionist who's an antiwar isolationist. This voter is not likely to be socially conservative, but is probably a cultural conservative, as that was the demographic Trump was targeting, although he chose Pence to appeal to social conservatives who were otherwise lukewarm or never Trump prior. This voter was likely to have supported Obama at least once and Bernie in the 2016 primary and is more likely than the average voter to have supported Perot and Nader or Buchanan. It could also be a single-issue voter (focusing on war or trade) who felt Trump was less hawkish or more protectionist than Hillary.
