Finally back at football! And as much as I dislike YB normally, it's not every day you get to see a little bit of history

deserved from a football point of view, and especially deserved from an emotional one as YB's fans danced and sang and made a racket for the full 90 minutes while Utd's just sat there is miserable silence.

It was a goodwill gesture just as much as anything. Bruce was unanimously hated by the fans, was always going to be after the much more popular Rafa. So sacking him makes the Saudis look like they are being proactive and sends the message that "we aren't going to run the club the same way Mike Ashley did". Easy PR win for them, especially given the animosity being directed at Newcastle from basically every corner right now

Gianni Infantino - who now lives in Qatar, seemingly because of the legal trouble he was facing in Switzerland - wants to have the World Cup every 2 years and this will somehow stop Africans from needing to flee across the Mediterranean to Europe (?).

Time to dissolve FIFA I think

Unless you are like Germany you should never assume that you are going to have a "comfortable" route through the group stages.

And even Germany tripped up last time, on a group that on the face of it should have been no trouble. Just don't make assumptions, don't do it.

The Tour belongs to Slovenia these days. A country with a long and pround cycling history going all the way back to 2018.

No-one going to mention Iker Cassillas's "hillarious" "joke" then?
