Both Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are falling apart right now.

Leipzig just got crushed by Borussia Monchengladbach 3-0, while Bayern Munich lost to FC Augsburg 1-0. despite holding possession for 77% of the game.

Munich hasn't won a Bundesliga game since beating Vfl Bochum 7-0 on August 21.

Madrileno Derby later today.

Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid usually put on great matches and this one should be no different.

Arsenal are top of the table, having won 6 of their first 7 matches.

I can't remember the last time they had such good form, but for the first time in a long time, I feel confident about them. I think Arsenal will have a good season.

Real Madrid wins the Madrileno Derby 2-1.

Also, Serie A is looking very interesting after seven games, with Napoli and Atalanta tied for the lead (and Napoli only ahead on goal differential), Udinese a point behind, and Lazio and AC Milan just three points behind.

Meanwhile, Juventus is having a nightmarish start to the season, sitting in eighth, seven points back, with Head Coach Massimillaino Allegri likely to be sacked any day now.

Inter Milan isn't doing much better, sitting in seventh, five points behind, and it's probably an open question how long Simone Inzaghi as their Head Coach if they don't improve.

I don't know to be honest. The team was already in a bad place and the situation is now even more complicated after Sérgio Conceição's car, with his family and young kids inside, was attacked and vandalized with stones as he was leaving the stadium.
That's really sad to hear and unacceptable... do you think this is the reason Francisco Conceiçao is absent at Ajax again? He's missed quite a few games already, flying back and forth for family-related stuff. Also, do you know why he wanted to leave Porto in the first place? And why are Benfica and Sporting fans making jokes about him and swimming pools?

Not sure if that's the reason, but, maybe, he came to Portugal, briefly, because of his family. But, again, I'm not sure. Benfica and Sporting fans mock him because of "swimming pools" because they accuse him of having a habit of "diving" himself into the penalty area in hopes of scoring a penalty or something. A bit childish, but, whatever, we Porto fans also mock Benfica and Sporting players.

There are also other episodes that are creating a bad environment in the Portuguese league: During the last week, two children were harassed and insulted during football matches by supporters of opposite teams.

The Lampard Everton project makes sense now. I never rated him as a manager, but he's managed to get great performances out of Alex Iwobi, which multiple managers with much more impressive CVs were unable to do at Arsenal or Everton. Coady, Gana, Tarkowski and McNeil were great additions, and then Onana as the wonderkid signing - it's more like Football Manager than real life.

Also in that game, the youngest ever PL debutant came on, and his name is Ethan Nwaneri, a 15 year-old. He came on for Fábio Vieira, who scored the Gunners' 3rd goal.

International break beginning, and that means things like the Nations League, or final tune-ups for the World Cup.

For the United States, this means friendlies with Japan, on Friday, and Saudi Arabia next Tuesday.

Winning both is quite doable. While Japan, one of the best teams in Asia will be a stiff test, we have the quality on the pitch to beat them. Our best players (Weston McKennie, Sergino Dest, Giovanni Reyna, Christian Pulisic) easily are better than Japan's (Takumi Minamino, Takefusa Kubo), and we are clearly better than Saudi Arabia.

I would have, though, if I were the U.S managerial staff and scheduling the friendlies, considered playing the Saudi Arabia game in Saudi Arabia, as that would be the best way to simulate conditions in Qatar when the World Cup actually kicks off.

Final score: Turkey 3, Luxembourg 3.

Turkey escapes on an 87th minute equalizer by Ismail Yuksek.

In terms of upsets and shock results that actually happened today, Azerbaijan beat Slovakia 2-1, also in UEFA Nations League action.

Japan carving the United States up right now. It's currently 1-0, almost thirty minutes in, but Japan should be leading by two or more goals right now.

Japan wins 2-0 against the United States, and quite frankly, it should have been by more.

I'm going to have to revise my predictions for the Group Stage of the World Cup, at this point.

Saudi Arabia is next for the U.S, and a much better performance is needed.

A grand accomplishment for the failed state of England to fall to the second tier of European football. Exposed so quickly in this young league to determine the most powerful of the nations.

Italy - Hungary for a spot in the top 4. Terrific!

If it weren't for the fact the very next matches for England will be the World Cup, I'd say Gareth Southgate likely will be fired.

A pair of upsets today in UEFA Nations League action, as Denmark beat France 2-0, (though France avoided relegation due to Croatia's victory over Austria, which clinched the group for Austria), and the Faroe Islands' 2-1 win over Turkey.

England have already been relegated, are playing for nothing against another team playing for nothing, in the last match before the World Cup, and Southgate is playing Maguire, who shouldn't be in the squad, and Kane? Ivan Toney gets called up and just sits on the bench...

The USA just looked abysmal against Saudi Arabia struggling to a 0-0 draw.

Couple that with England having looked horrible throughout Nations League play, and Iran doing really well this window, and I think Group B might have Iran winning the group, and the second slot being any one of England, the USA and Wales (all three of whom looked horrible this past window).

Scotland got a 0-0 draw despite stomach illness, got promotion and a playoff place.

Takes a bit of the sting off not making it to Qatar.

Big game tomorrow in the Bundesliga between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen at Allianz Arena.

Munich needs this win to get back in the title hunt, where they are five points behind Union Berlin, and they probably need the win to save Julian Nagelsmann's job.

Speaking of this weekend's schedule, there are a bunch of great games ahead.

Friday gives us the aforementioned Bayern Munich/Bayer Leverkusen match, a must-win for Bayern Munich, and a battle between the second and third sides in the Portuguse Liga, FC Porto and Braga (Porto is second, two points behind Benifica, while Braga is third, five points behind, through seven matches).

On Saturday, we'll have the North London Derby between league leading Arsenal and third placed Tottenham Hotspur (only one point behind), and Inter Milan/Roma at the San Siro, which could be critical for determining a European competition place (Roma is sixth in Serie A, Inter Milan is seventh).

Sunday gives us the Manchester Derby at the Eithad in what I would say is probably a game Manchester United needs at to least get a point from to have a realistic shot at getting a European place next season.

So, over the past two days we've had:

Bayern Munich getting back to their winning ways and dominating Bayer Leverkusen 4-0.

Porto flattening Braga 4-1.

Arsenal easily winning the North London Derby 3-1.

Liverpool dropping important points in a 3-3 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion. Liverpool currently sit in ninth, eleven points behind league leading Arsenal, and four points behind a Champions League place. Could Jurgen Klopp's job be in danger, for what seems like the first time?

League Leading Union Berlin getting upset by Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0.

Borussia Dortmund getting shocked by Cologne 3-2.

And Roma winning a key match with Inter Milan 2-1 to vault up the Serie A table to fourth.

Manchester Derby tomorrow...
