Printed copies of the Wikipedia article along with an explanatory note/proof are each sent to Bobby Kennedy, Eugene McCarthy, and Hubert H. Humphrey at precisely noon Washington DC time on January the first 1968.

Yes, in January 1968 this would surprise people way more than the idea of Nixon being corrupt, a perception that had existed in some circles since at least the early 1950s.

Hubert Humphrey didn't reveal that Nixon sabotaged the peace negotiations in Vietnam so I'm not sure if he would have revealed this either even if he believed it.
