It's durable.

Dump the Stephen Millers but put forth a tough immigration stance but that is not a concentration camp-type thing like what Trump did.

It could be done.

Biden and Harris are leading 50/45, the same exact margin they won 2020 bye and MI, WI and PA don't have many Latinos.

Bush W got 44% due to CO, AZ, NM and NV were Tilt R states, how they are Solid blue states and D's don't need TX or FL

The main question is this: will the Republican base of angry white men allow its candidates to adopt such a policy platform?

I don't see how "angry white men" deciding the GOP's policy platform will affect Republicans' ability to gain Latino voters.

This is correct.

Trump won 38% of Latinos according to Pew Research while having some incredibly harsh immigration policies. I think people assuming Hispanics only care about immigration is akin to assuming Jews only care about Israel- it’s a misconception.

They can try as hard as they like but 50% is nearly impossible.

I don't see a Republican ever doing better than Trump did in 2020. And keep in mind that Democrats are now aware of their blind-spot taking some Hispanic voters for granted and, if they're smart, won't back down so easily to allow that to happen again.

Not even George W. Bush pulled that much and he performed relatively well the Hispanic vote. Even with an increase of support Trump's percentage of the Hispanic vote was abysmal in comparison to what GWB got.

Trump didn’t try very hard to court Hispanic voters in 2020. He focused more on African Americans and suburban women (apparently), which backfired.

People also forget that before 2020 Trump was widely considered a horrible fit for Hispanics. And now it’s being said that no one can outperform him with Hispanics? Lol.
