#5 Michigan vs #16 Iowa — messed up if they don't open the roof in Lucas Oil and give this game the atmosphere it truly deserves. PREDICTION: Michigan 8 – 4 Iowa.

Yes. Scored in the traditional way: Iowa scores four points on a field goal and a one point safety while Michigan gets eight off a touchdown and regular safety.

Notre Dame is retaining its S&C coach, and I don't think that they'd be making staffing decisions if they weren't planning to go with an internal hire for head coach. I would be very surprised if it weren't Freeman at this point.

Out of the games I attended last week, the Iron Bowl was obviously the best, but the Egg Bowl was the most interesting experience. Maybe it's because both programs have had far too much success to really care about each other in the same way, and maybe it's because they each have another rival in a neighboring state, but Auburn fans and Alabama fans didn't seem to hate each other in quite the way that the fans in Mississippi do. The Egg Bowl was the original reason for my trip, and it was everything I hoped it would be: a game with no meaningful national implications between two coaches with weird cults of personality in front of fans who made it clear that they despised each other. I won't soon forget that cold, rainy night in Starkville.

I knew about the cowbells, of course, but I don't think I was prepared for them. It was very amusing to see that every time Rebels fans would start the Hotty Toddy chant, a chorus of cowbells would start to try to drown them out. This continued even on the ramps after the game. Sometimes people would just start ringing their cowbells because they were bored and it was something to do. Lane Kiffin was not wrong in complaining about them, in the sense that it was very obvious that fans were not following the rules and instead continued to ring their cowbells well after the center got set. My buddy got a cowbell that now occupies a place of honor in his home.

It was great finally meeting Xahar in person after being aware of him for nearly 15 years. Sorry you didn't get the chance to see Davis Wade Stadium at its best, like you would have in 2013 and 2019 Egg Bowls (dramatic wins on the ~final play).

I would say that we generally do a pretty good job as a fanbase following the cowbell rules (the volume clearly goes down when the center touches the ball most of the time), but negative emotions were running high Thursday. I actually strongly dislike it when random fans keep ringing when they're not supposed to and would like to see an actual crackdown.

Bama at 3 feels like the committee giving itself maximum flexibility to keep them in or throw them out depending on how the SEC championship game goes.

If Riley can make USC great again it will be extremely nauseating given I remember how USC bandwagoners were like last time USC will be great. A Bama vs USC college football world would be super super annoying

You don't have to worry about that at least. Saban probably doesn't last more than a few more years. A USC-Georgia-Ohio State CFB world is more likely. If USC is getting serious about football then Oregon's easy ride with recruiting is done though.

Steve Addadzio out at Colorado State

This could be another possible landing spot for Dan Mullen, but other than that, I can't think of anyone off of the top of my head.

Virginia seems like the best fit for Mullen. It's still a P5 job with a lot of money, but not an unrealistic fanbase that expects 5-star athletes winning conference and national titles.

That makes four picks for both Oregon and Utah.  An even split in picks for a game is fairly rare for us.

Utah is steamrolling Oregon again tonight.

38-10 with five minutes to go.

So, it's looking like we'll have a Utah/Ohio State Rose Bowl (unless Iowa wins the Big Ten Championship game tomorrow).

In the long-awaited Eastern Washington @ Montana rematch tonight, Eastern Washington outgained Montana 608 to 368 behind 530 passing yards (80 attempts) by potential All-American Eric Barriere and lost 57-41. Montana gets revenge on their own turf.

Montana went 2 for 12 on third down. Just one of those unexplainable box score victories aided by a fumble, a blocked punt and a late pick 6 to seal it but mostly good return yardage. Will be hilarious if/when they put up more yardage against a much stronger JMU defense next week.

Sigh...I was really tempted to switch to Utah before last night's game, but chickened out.
