Two Northeasterners face off in 2032, New York Gov. Mike Lipetri for the Republican Party and New Jersey Gov. John Francis Roman for the Democratic Party. Who wins?

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

You think a Northeastern Republican can coalesce a Southern-centric party? Yes, he is pro-tough on crime, but he probably is antigun like a lot of Long Island Republicans.....his path to the nomination is probably through NH and maybe SC...

As for Roman, he is a millennial on the rise in NJ.

I really don't think a party that's currently obsessed with Donald Trump of all people would, hypothetically, have much trouble accepting another tough-on-crime Northeasterner whose bona fides on traditional fusionist concerns were questionable, no.

There's "national figure" "on the rise" and then there's "local politician in Linden, NJ" "on the rise". I really don't think we're talking about Jon Ossoff or Josh Hawley here.
